I've already posted this in teh "toilet training anyone?" but thought I'd post here too.

Michaela uses the "big girl toilet" which a little toddler seat on it and a potty on the floor - depending on her mood and what she wants to do.  My MIL looks after her in the afternoons and has to lift her onto the toilet but I worry about her because Michaela is heavy and MIL has osteoperosis and weak wrists.

I'd really like one of those toilet training seats with little steps and handles that help your toddler climb onto the toilet themselves.  I've checked the warehouse and kmart but haven't seen them - has anyone else seen them anywhere?  There were 2 on TM when I checked last night but they're both pick up only from Auckland and I'm not popping up for awhile.

I'm going to buy some plastic steps if I can't see the actual seat anywhere.

I have one at home from Baby Factory $69.95.

Its a Potty for the floor then you can change it over and the toilet part sits on the toilet...One step and handles on the side.

I think that's what we'll end up doing as the toilet room is small enough that she can use the wall or sink to balance with if she needs too, plus we already have the seat so it'll be nice and cheap to just pick up a step stool - now to find one of those (the warehouse didn't have any when I checked)

We got a step stool from Payless Plastic for Z (brushing teeth and washing hands)...for $13.95. It has those rubber none slip thingies on the bottom!

I've seen them at Baby City as well, so probably most baby shops sell them?

We have a stool and a toddler seat as well, although the toddler seat isn't currently in use. It's more to give some feeling of security in the early days. The stools are very handy - one for the bathroom for washing hands as well
