Topic: lunch box ideas for 1 year olds Posted: 02 September 2008 at 7:48pm |
Hi there
I am hoping you guys will be able to help me out with ideas for healthy lunch box snacks for my boy who is turning one on Sunday. At the moment he takes, pop in bit sandwiches, crackers, cubes of cheese, diced fruit, raisins, arrowroot biscuits, yoghurt pretty much everyday. Mini muffins and pikelets he has sometimes if i have baked. Im sure its pretty boring so any help would be greatly appreciated
TIA

fruit. I found bananas and mandarins were good to take with us when we went out. rice crackers are also really popular with Ella. with the muffins I find it useful to frozen a couple when I make them, that way you can use them when you need to.
other than that, I can't think of anything else different at the moment...

I often go to the library as they have quite a few recipe books for babies and toddlers, they often have some good ideas. I uppose it depends on how much trouble you want to go to. Recently I make a batch of bacon and egg breadcases for Jack and froze them. If we go out I sometimes cook up some fish fingers before we go and by lunchtime they have cooled, he loves those. Pita pockets. I usually bake a batch of muffins and freeze them, getting out a few at a time. Is he anygood at dipping things? Hummus dip etc with veges?

We used to do too many veges for dinner, so would save them and our boy would eat them cold the next day.

All that's mentioned but I alos do quite a bit of baking, things like cheese twists/sticks, marmite sticks are great as they freeze so you can bulk make in advance and pull out what you need when you need them.....womens weekly baby books are great
