Topic: Hehehe, Oh dear! Posted: 12 August 2008 at 10:41am |
Benjy was still asleep when I got back from dropping Ella at kindy this morning (as was DH) so I took the opportunity to jump in the shower.
As I began to rinse the conditioner out of my hair I heard him suddenly begin screaming his little heart out.
I raced up the stairs clutching my towel and leaving a trail of water in my wake, my heart in my throat.
When I opened his door I was so scared of what I'd find, he's not one to holler like that unless something *REALLY* bad has happened.
Sure enough, I found him crying his eyes out at the scene of an absolute tragedy... he'd dropped his dummy out of the window onto the garage roof. (Don't worry, the window has those stay thingees, so he could only just fit his hand through)
"Nummy don, nummy dooooooooooon!" he sobbed.
DH has slept blissfully through the disaster, meanwhile, I'm freezing my tits off, trying not to laugh at Benjy's misfortune.
We said that he could have his dummy until age 2 so its convenient for us that he's gotten rid of it and understands why its gone. Wish us luck for the next few nights though, eeek!

Lol, laugh away, I sure did once I defrosted!
I asked DH how he could sleep through the screaming, as Benjy's room is just off of ours. He said "It didn't sound that urgent" !!!
Just goes to show how differently we perceive things huh?

He's doing ok!
The first night was very sad when he went to bed, he cried for over an hour but fell asleep with me rubbing his back and slept through the night.
Second night he cried for about half an hour and then woke at 3 but went straight to sleep after a cuddle.
Last night he asked for the dummy when I put him to bed but went straight to sleep and slept through.
Fingers crossed we're over the worst of it
