I only stayed at hospital but we had pads provided and flannels (which are also helpful for toileting, so you won't need to take toilet paper). I went through about a dozen undies in the first 2-3 days so get a couple of packs. I grab the Warehouse ones and go for hip ones not full briefs.

Don't take washable breast pads, just stick with disposable so you can chuck them straight out and they won't hang around and get smelly. I found t-shirts ok (and there's a sheet to cover your tummy if you want anyway). And don't forget a pen.

Unless you are leaky already you can expect to get your milk in at around day 3-4, so until then you probably won't need breast pads. (=don't pack too many )

Lol I am very pleased that you haven't packed yet. I looked a a booklet from my midwife this morning that told me I should have packed already (sooo not ready for that! (and I don't have anything to pack...)

Thanks for the advice

Wow, so many things to think about, I'm gonna have to come back to this thread when I'm further along. Don't forget that you won't be all by yourself, hubby can always go get stuff you forget. But saying that, I think I'll be one thats prepared for everything - I can see me packing my large suitcase!!

All the best for the next few weeks, those that are due soon. I look forward to the reports from St G's, Womens and Lincoln if anyone is heading there!!

It is essential to bring these in your labour bag:
* Clothes – An old nightdress for labour.
* Button on tops- I was gifted one by a friend from Queen Bee
* Nursing supplies – (pack two or more comfortable bras)
* Breast pads- I got mine at Milk and Love
* Maternity pads (disposable pads are nice too!)
* Toiletries and a towel
* Lip balm

God bless you and congratulations!

Hope this helps!

That's helpful! I will be bringing all these baby essentials. I am due on the 19th of December and i can't wait! I always read baby-related threads in the hopes of learning something from them! I find Oh Baby! so useful :) Thanks!
