What age did you move your kids into a big bed?

Do they have a single or a king-single?

Alyssa has been in her bed for a bit over a month and she sleeps much better now than she did in the cot. We have a standard single.

We started transitioning Erin at 18mo as she was showing signs of being more than ready (read: climbing!), so we went nearly two weeks with the side off her cot and a 'crash pad' on the floor, then switched to a single bed, which she has had no problems adjusting to.

King Single here. Andrew went into it at 18 odd months. We stared by taking the side of the bars off the cot first and then day sleeps. Josh is nowhere near moving to the big bed yet.

We moving Andrew to his top bunk about 3 months ago.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Conor was exactly two years old, he was in a single bed until he was 4 and then a double.

Nyah was about 18mths, we took the side of her cot about a month and then she moved into a King Single.

Never! The gremlins will be in cots forever!

Maya was about 20 months. She's in a single, I'll move her into a king single when the gremlins go into beds coz one of them can have her single bed and the other can have the spare single we have lying around. But their cots turn into toddler beds so they'll be in those for at least another 2 years.

Yeah Kahtrell moved into a single bed about a month ago, we have a bed rail aswell, he definitley sleeps better in there than he did in the cot, but still wakes in the night, mainly because of the cats I think...they wake him up by snuggling at his head lol

Ollie was a couple of days shy of 2yrs. We moved a single bed into his room a month or so earlier and he asked to sleep in it and other than rolling out the first night, he's been fine.

Ella was just over a year old, and we put her in a single bed, but with double blankets and duvet (looks nicer, and I figured it'd take her longer to accidentally kick them off in her sleep if there was more to shove off the bed). Works well for her.

Still no where near wanting to move Rhylz... hes quite happy where he is and so am I. His cot goes in to a bed so the trasition shouldn't be too bad, its the same cot I have used for all the kids and worked a treat for the other 2.. Josh was around 18months in it and Brooke around 20months

Awwwww! Elle has never slept in our bed (she likes her space) but she just jumped up there, asked for a blanket and her music and then blew me a kiss goodbye. She is now napping in our huge kind size bed!

This is really huge for her as she usually needs to be in her cot. YAY! Looks like it's a good time to get a big bed :)

Zaara moved to her Single bed at 2.5 years. With no rails but I put another pillow on the side.....however she does sleep in one position most of the night so thats really good!

She still does come over to our bed some nights...

Jake was almost 2, he asked to go int he big bed in his room, and we have never had a problem. We bought a king single for him at christmas time when we shifted him to the smaller room, he loves it. Lil lady likes getting in it as well, and will probably sleep in a bed we we are in fiji, I will take the safety sleep, but to be honest, I like the containment of the cot and she is still so tiny... I hope to use the cot till about this time next year... maybe... She will go into a king single, too.

Olivia was about 19-20 months old when I started the transition from cot to bed. We just started with day time naps at first, she had 4 days of some pretty terribly day time sleeps before she calmed down then about 2 weeks later we started the night sleeps (although she wanted to try before then, I left it till I was sure she would be ok), she slept 10hrs that night and 12 basically every night after. I moved her over because even though there was plenty of room in her cot she was hurting herself on the bars moving around at night at least once a week. She sleeps much better in her big bed than she ever did in the cot.
I never took her cot down till she was sleeping in her big bed for a couple of nights really well.
She is not a kid that handles huge changes very well so I am really glad we did a transition.
