Well it seems to be getting worse.
One of the wonderful things about elle is that she has always settled at bedtime without a word of complaint...just straight to sleep.
Last night however, she went down at 7.30 and at 9.30 was still playing and talking....and at 11 was still going. She eventually fell asleep just after 11 and then was awake again from 1 to 3. |
well i think that is a stage all kids go thru... i dont know how many threads i have read about "oh no my baby wont settle at night now". and i certainly remember the boys going thru that stage...
and as i said before - my husbands step brothers were both movers and grovers in their cots in the night up till 3 yrs old...and are neither gifted or autistic.
i know i havent seen elle that much but every time i have she seems to be to be a perfectly normal little bit of trouble, a mixture of my run away boy and my grumpy bum clingy pants boy...!!! and it hought it was hard enough to deal with them as individuals, i'm glad they dont both have the same traits!!! eeekkkk!!!

Hey. Thanks for asking! I'm a bit scared to post now!
We didn't go. We are trying something else first. Doctors seem to label or prescribe.
Some friends recommended a guy on the shore who is a chiropractic kinesiologist. Like a cross between a chriopractor and a cranial osteopath.
The following is a LOT of info so don’t read if you’re not interested! LOL.
He found ALL the things the cranial osteopath found, all the things the neuro ladies found and more. ALL of them are related to her neck and pelvis being out, probably from the 9 weeks she was engaged.
The neck and pelvis being out of alignment means all the nerves off the spine that communicate with various parts of the body are wonky and her central nervous system is under stress. He said the osteo must've helped it (hence why she stopped the neck tilt etc at the time) but not fully fixed it. As a result, her digestion is out - she is not absorbing water or protein well. The protein thing is why she has low iron. She has sensory issues from the stress to the central nervous system and dehydration (although she drinks 4 of 5 points in the system that absorb water are not working). The protein thing is interesting as because her system can absorb it, she taste buds don't like the foods so we now have to retrain her that meat etc is ok. She may need a protein supplement for a short time.
Her internal clock was way out, hence the sleep issues. My friends go to see this guy and every time their kids start night waking, they take them in to get their internal clocks fixed and within a week they are sleeping through again.
He was able to describe Elle to a 'T' without me giving him any hints or info. He has realigned things and expects some improvements soon although occasionally it takes 2 or 3 appts.
He said that he sees a lot of kids that have been given labels such as ADHD but it is protein absorption that is it problem...without protein the brain and central nervous system short-wire. Once the protein absorption is fixed, they get better.
So...are you lost now??
Essentially, there is nothing WRONG with Elle but there are HEAPS of things out of order that are making her stressed out.
Makes soooo much sense huh!
It takes about a week for the full effect of the treatment to be seen so we are watching and waiting. If the rocking continues, we will go to the sleep clinic.

I was wondering how you'd gotten on too... sounds like that guy was pretty onto it! It's amazing what they can figure out these days huh.
Hoping this is your answer and Elle is a happier wee lass

Wow that sounds really interesting! Hopefully she'll come right with these appts and you can get her sleeping through the night again
