how hard is it...?

Oh, been there! We've had stand-offs about banana skins and yoghurt mainly. But i do find that once I have won (and i always do), the behaviour is fabulous for the rest of the day.

ooooh yes, we have that behaviour from ayja who always pics time out as her option when given the "you have 2 choices, do .... or you can go to time out"

backfires though cos as soon as she's out of time out it's always, "good, now you can go back and do..."

I STILL get that with Miss Four, she sits on her bedroom floor and screams for half an hour at the indignity of being asked to put her clothes away, even tho the task itself is a two minute job. Ugh!

ahhhhh the joys of toddlers

when jack was about 2.5 or so, he wanted a muesli bar, i asked him to say please........do you think he'd say it! over and over and over   'muesli bar, muesli bar'   'then say please'   'muesli bar, muesli bar wah wah wah' this went on for over an hour

he finally said please, and ate his bar happily

Ive started saying i will just throw ..... out. Yesterday he wouldnt pack up his wiggles blocks and Im soooo sick of them all over the house so i said right if they arent done by the time i get back in the room I will pack them up and just put them straight into the rubbish. Works everytime and Ive only had to throw out something twice and he got the message

So glad to know I'm not alone! This morning it was a battle of eating breakfast at the table, not in front of the telly (which she is allowed to do on the weekend). She wouldnt finish her porridge at the table so it got chucked, then she wanted toast like me. Wouldnt give her any, came on her and went and checked onher 10 mins later to find she had helped herself to bread. Argh, so not sure who won that particular battle, but the rest of the day was ok. Mum heard her screaming for toast on the phone and told me not to be too hard on her

The girls ended up being so silly yesterday they had me in tears - by 10 am paris had been relegated to coming into the kitchen with me and she got given a sponge and told to scrub the cupboards (i was doing a spring clean). She of course viewed this as neat and then her sister wanted to join. lesson lost there.

Becks it gets worse with age i think, Paris is soooooooo narky with everything sometimes. and worse thing is when she makes it very clear that she is knowingly ingoring everything you say or will look at you and snidely smile as she does something she's not supposed to be doing, like walking over her sister's doll or something you've just asked her not to do, or when you are telling her off for a very good reason and she sits there laughing at you. ARGH frustration... i sure as heck hope that once all our pre-school monkeys start heading towards teens we are all still here and there's a dealing with teenagers board so we can all come back and nut it out (alot of the topics will probably be the same as the toddler section)

yep she is, i went there so i wanted the girls to
