I know, I know, every child is different but just for my own curiousity, I was wondering when your toddler learnt to stand up from sitting without anything to pull themselves up on? Ashleigh took her first steps 3 months ago and has been properly walking for 2 months but still needs to pull herself up on something to stand. Well actually I'm sure she could do it but she hasn't tried. She falls or sits down, then crawls to something to pull herself back up. I'm not worried at all about it, just merely curious how long it took others

Elle's only pulled to stand a handful of times, even if there is something beside her to pull up on, she can't seem to work out how to do it...despite us showing her many times. The brain connection just isn't there.

Just yesterday she went from sitting, to all fours, and then to standing all on her own in the middle of the floor. She hasn't done it again today though.

No help probably! Just be happy that she can crawl and hence get herself up on furnature! Having a baby that can't get up themselves is quite frustrating.

ages as I recall. Taine walked from just before a year, and could pull himself up - maybe four months after that.

cant remember what Kobe did but Addison started before she could really properly walk. she would stand herself up and then take a step and fall down again. she has never really used anything to pull herself up on even when she was crawling she never bothered. Im sure kobe was a couple of months at least though.

It took ages here too, I can't remember how long, they were both walking at 12 1/2 mos so I guess it was around 16-20mos?

Thanks guys, hopefully she'll do it soon! My 14 mo nephew started doing it a few weeks after learning to walk but it sounds like he is in the minority!

Maya started it a couple of days before she took her first steps, we were outside and she just stood up on the lawn. The gremlins are showing no signs of doing it any time soon.

Yay, we practised this afternoon and she seems to have it sussed! Although she forgets and starts crawling until I tell her to stand up

Elle has just mastered standing up too! Yay! So the others were right...it often happens about 2mths after they start walking (different for all kids though of course)

Clever girls :)

Yay, go Elle!! I've actually noticed in the past that our girls seem to do things around the same time
