It's my son's first father's day and his father is playing happy families with his new girlfriend and her three kids. He has only seen my wee boy four times since he was born 11 months ago.
I'm finding it pretty hard today. This isn't how it should be. Think I'll stay in today so I don't get upset by all the happy families out and about.
I don't know if Kels is around today, but she is treating herself on Father's Day (or actually I think her older (primary/intermediate) daughters might be) since she's doing two jobs. Single parenting isn't easy, treat yourself to something special for doing two jobs
Angel. It is really hard but just take the time out to give yourself a pat on the back for doing an awesome job. BTW its your sons father that is missing out so you keep your chin up and enjoy your day with your wee man, you are your own little family together.
My sons first fathers day too and I hadnt even realised
Busy mum to Miss 15yrs, Miss 10yrs and Master 4yrs
Yeah, that's what I was going to say. I grew up with just my mum and we always celebrated Fathers Day for her as well as Mothers Day. Set a precedent now I reckon! You are doing two jobs, good on you and what a lucky son to have such a great mum.
