Topic: Success rate - frozen embryo transfer Posted: 16 July 2010 at 9:22pm |
I'm just wondering if anyone knows that the statistics are for frozen embryo transfer success? Google has been *most* unhelpful

Yep! My cycle starts in a few days, give or take. We're biting the bullet and seeing how things go! It's do or die a bit - we've decided that we won't do any further IVF cycles, so it's one of our frozens or else it'll be just us and Cuinn
ETA - Thanks noodle!!

Depends on your age etc. I never found the stats helpful as they apply to the population as a whole, not to yourself as an individual e.g. the rate might be 25%, but that could mean one woman 3x unsuccessful, one woman one time successful, so sucess rate 1 in 4, but 100% for one and none for another. If it helps, our son is our first FET, a lovely little 7 cell (one damaged cell but that's perfectly normal), so it can happen first time (and I'm in the older age category where the odds are less).

Thanks everyone. We're on the younger side (I'm 31, going into the FER) and we're dealing with 5 day 5 blasts, so I know the odds are pretty good that we'll have a pregnancy somewhere in there ... I think I'm just a bit terrified about having another kid so I'm trying to comfort myself in a 'TTC' process that may take longer than the first cycle I guess I'll keep y'all posted! At this stage, apparently my body is terrified too, and my period won't start properly. Ha! Always the way
