Hi Ladies,

I haven't been on this forum for awhile but I am wondering if there is anyone else in prep mode for their next IVF cycle following an unsuccessful last attempt? I start my next publicly funded cycle in September. I just had my ureaplasma/mycoplasma (as mentioned on another thread) tested and I tested positive for ureaplasma I am going to be starting antibiotics shortly. I would also like to lose about 5kg and I'm considering treatment for candida . . . I was diagnosed with it by a kinesiologist I visted who said it can get into a persons digestive system and cause all sorts of health problems including infertility. I plan to get a second test done by a naturopath before proceeding with treatment though as it is quite an intensive process. Does anyone know anything more about this? Anyway, just looking for a pre-IVF prep buddy Look forward to chatting!

Hi again Nightingale.

We've started a thread "ivf and those kg's" for those of us keen to lose some weight - some of the girls are IVF some aren't. We started it to keep it to a small manageable number, and I'll be back on board there soon kicking my butt into gear to lose some weight so I can go on a holiday in September feeling good about myself!

Before our last transfer, we spent time and money going to a naturopath specialising in fertility, and also going to a accupuncturist, and doing the ureaplasma etc check. We decided to throw everything at it since it was our last hope (as we can't afford any more IVF cycles) and we won't get public funding til late next year.

I've felt amazingly well with the naturopath intervention and also the accupuncture (to my surprise) has been wonderful. So I'd highly recommend it if you have some $ available.

Feel free to ask any questions
5 IVF/ICSI Cycles - 10 embryo's, 8 transfers, all BFN's.
Our journey to parenthood is over, and we join the unfortunate many for whom IVF does not work.

hi nightingale

I will be doing our next round hopefully in august. I have just had BFN this week after our first IVF round and am trying to prepare for the next one to get my mind of it! I will however be doing a frozen cycle next.

I too have PCOS and have been seeing a natupath and acupuncturist which I believed helped me. The acupuncture if nothing else, was really good for my emotional state. I have never heard that before about candida - did you get another test done? I have had a hair analysis done which shows deficiancies and metals you can have which can also affect fertility.

Good luck with everything
I am new on here by the way
