Hey everyone,

We are on Day 3 of our Buserelin injections (Such an ordeal!) & I was wondering if there are any do's & don'ts I should be aware of?

Obviously I am not drinking alcohol but is there anything else? The nurse didn't really say anything & the book we have is really just the obvious about alcohol, drugs, cigarettes etc?

Thanks,

Hi Parki,

All the best for your IVF cycle! Is it your first? I am assuming as much. They just said to me to avoid caffiene, fizzy drinks and hot baths. How are you finding the jabbing? I find it easiest to just stab it in there - less pain as hesitation usually makes them hurt more. Good luck!

Hi Nightingale,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, this is our first cycle, we started on Sunday so have a few more weeks of jabs to go. First few were terrible. I am terrified of needles so after about 30 mins of tears and freak outs DH managed to get it in, each day gets easier!

We are having ICSI so that should be around mid to late May I think.

Good luck to you too!

Hi Parki,

Glad to hear they're getting easier! I had one meltdown last cycle where I swear the needle was blunt and it just wouldn't go in. Thankfully this time around I had no trouble. It'll be a piece of cake within a matter of weeks Thanks for you well wishes! We got 18 eggs, 15 fertilised and we now have 14 on Day 2 (egg collection day is Day 0) We are doing a 5 day transfer. All the best for your cycle!

Hi trying to revive this thread...I'm about to start round 2 IVF in a few weeks, so also am interested.

Some people have recommended eating pineapple, sunflower seeds and walnuts in another thread, but not sure why or when in the cycle (i'm guessing on the 2ww).

Also acupuncture during the 2ww.

Can anyone comment?
