Hi all, does anyone know if IUI is compromised if you are overweight? I'm about 30 kgs overweight (working on getting it down) and just finished my 3rd cycle of clomiphene. I have ovulated each time but all BFN's. I have heard that excess weight can reduce the effectiveness of clomiphene.

I'm considering IUI and just wondering if anyone who is overweight has had personal experience with IUI that they could share with me.

Thanks

Hey Frankie,

I am not 100% sure but can you speak to a fertility clinic or maybe check out www.fertilityassociates.co.nz and see if they have any articles relating to that?

I am sure the internet would provide alot of info but of course you would want a reliable source so going straight to a fertility specialist might help.
TTC since Oct 07
Clomid Oct 08-Feb09 - BFN's
Lap done and endo excised April 09
3 x IUI's - BFN's
IVF - Sept 10

thanks Flipsta. I haven't been able to find anything on the net about it. I've got a review at FA in mid Jan so I'll see what my specialist says. Just want to know now though (of course).
