Sperm antibodies after vas reversal

I got the impression that you were about to start injections for IVF? But they haven't explained to you what ICSI is??? ICSI is introcytoplasmic injection (that spelling is probably completely off!) and is where a single sperm is injected into an egg, instead of the sperm and eggs being left to do their own thing.

Hi mtjt - yes my DH had the antibodies and we were given a less than 1% chance of conceiving naturally. So we did IVF with ICSI. And I am happy to report that it was 100% successful on the very first cycle and I now have a beautiful 17 month old Daughter. Egg Collection is a little uncomfortable, but it's not too bad and it's over pretty quickly, so try not to worry. I found the main thing was to try and not overthink things, and have some nice distractions throughout the cycle, especially during the two week wait after the embryo has been put back and you are waiting to hear the result. Good luck mtjt, I am sure you will have a successful cycle and will be reporting good news soon.

I got my injections yesterday and did my first one last night (a bit daunting... but sure i will get used to it...) lets hope they work!

How many good eggs did you have lulu? and how many good embryos? also how old are you?? i am rather curious as i am now 37 years old and have been told because of age fertility does decline after 35... I am hoping and praying for some good embryos so we can have others frozen to use again... lets keep fingers crossed.!!

Honeybun - sounds like you are also referred to hamilton FA - i have been told about an IVF group that meets at their office thursday arvos and then you and your hubby can talk with the embryologist etc and get shown around..
About the egg collection - i have to try and relax and not worry too much about it (really hard to do) as i know i will have a much better chance of conception if im happy and relaxed... however i do believe at hamilton FA they give you sedative/narcotic that helps with the pain. I hope it works!! i believe you are awake for the procedure but sedated...i have been told it only lasts about 10-15 mins...Lulu mentioned that was uncomfortable but over very quickly... im sure i could cope with that!

I had nine eggs and on day three I had three perfect 8 cell embryos, one of which was transferred back to me and is now my beautiful Daughter, and two that are frozen. I was 34 at the time.
