Hi girls
I have been thinking that if acupuncture doesnt shortern my cycles (with my pcos) by Jan (over 3 months of acupuncture) that I am going to go back to FA and I know the options..try and loose a few kg...which Im trying at the moment or clomid or metiform.....I was wondering what experiences you have had on either and what you recommend as last time I went to FA I got the impression I could have a say in what med choose rather than them choosing entirly for me???? I really want to make an informed choice if I go down that track

thanks girls

Hi Kye, I dont or very rarley ovulate with my PCOS and have done 5 or so high dosage clomid rounds with no ovulation, the specialist said some women are clomid resistant and that taking metformin to reduce insulin levels and then taking clomid in conjunction with it may help with ovulation, she also said that just taking the metformin in some women is enough to make ovulation happen. sorry if that makes no sense but i have been taking met from july (i think lol) but havnt yet done clomid in conjuction with it because my ovarian drilling came up before i had a chance however the specialist said last week that if i dont ovulate over the next 3 months with the met and drilling (i ovulated last month 2 and a half weeks after the drilling) then to try clomid with the met, so time will tell.

Did FA say last time what they would recommend for you as a next step? and have you done clomid before? (that may be their first line of attack)

I dont know wether i have helped you at all, if you have any more questions i am happy to answer them from what i have experianced

Thanks girls

I dont think im insulin resistant? although I am not sure? All I know is that ive found it easy to put on weight and bloody hard to loose it since I came off the pill lol! and have 44-50 day cycles, the Dr really hasnt done any tests aside from internal scan and hormone levels as far as pcos goes.

FA didnt really say just gave me info to go away and read about the drugs as I said then ok I will go away and try and loose some weight as he said that would give me a 50% chance of resuming ovulation naturally, Im probably 5-10kg over weight but its been mission impossible
