    Posted: 15 October 2012 at 4:19pm
Im now 19 weeks pregnant and have had no appetite this whole pregnancy. I do eat but its a big struggle because I never feel like anything. At my last mw appt 2 weeks ago I still had not gained any weight.
Its becoming more of an issue now as I am becoming increasingly exhausted / no energy / having trouble sleeping (because of anxiety and bad dreams about miscarrying again, plus toddler waking at night, plus working til 11.30pm 5 days in the last 8 days) and then becoming emotional etc etc.
I phoned the mw today who suggested using a homeopathic remedy.

Has anyone got any tips please?

Hi Kellz, Sorry to hear you are having a rough time... I didn't have loss of appetite overall, but I struggled in the mornings and I started drinking vita plan or complan in the mornings to at least get a boost of some vitamins & minerals etc... I also did some fresh fruit & vege juices to sip slowly on... which i found help to give me energy... hope this helps...

I am going to success complan as well. Or making up a smoothie with yoghurt, fruit etc....I am sure i have seen some breakfast smoothie recipes which have museli in it as well. You could also have a bunch of easy to eat snacks on hand that you can just snack on during the day- nuts and some dried fruit would be good and some dry crackers.

I was going to suggest Complan too. I got referred to a nutritionist during my pregnancy cos I kept losing weight - not through lack of eating just seemed two babes were sucking the life out of me. So Complan with banana was my standard snack.

Thanks guys. I got my blood results back today and my iron is low so will start supplements for that too, which is another explanation for my lack of energy too!

I went off my food for a couple of weeks (when about week 5-6) and it seems to have settled down now. My LMC said that women can sometimes go off foods when the placenta is forming.. but also I did some googling at the time and iron deficiency can cause lack of appetite too. I have been much better lately, maybe because I switched to a more comprehensive vitamin. Hope you pick up soon, best of luck.
