LMC help!

I'm struggling to figure out by best option for a LMC and hoping you guys can help me. I'm 34 and 8 weeks pregnant, I have no medical complications so far other than an ectopic pregnancy earlier this year which has been ruled out in this pregnancy. My issue is geographical, we really want to move before the baby is born and it's making figuring out this LMC business hard! We currently live in South Auckland and want to move to West Auckland to be closer to family. I don't want to have a MW out South as hopefully we wont be here when the baby is born and i'd rather not change half way through. I'd also like to start setting up support systems close to where I will live. But, i'm scared to get a MW out west just in case we can't sell our house anything else that prevents the move. I've been told if this happens I wont be allowed to deliver at Waitakare Hospital. I'm thinking the best option may be to go private in the city so i'm smack in the middle! I work in the city too so it would be convenient. My questions are, does anyone know any other way to be able to deliver at National Womans and have a city MW without going private. Any city Obstetrician recommendations - i've already tried AOC and they're full. Or and other recommendations for my situation. Sorry for the very long post!! Any advice would be much appreciated. Also any comments re private v's public would be helpful.

Thanks so much for replying. That makes things a lot clearer. I've spoken to a couple of other mums today who have said the same thing thing so it seems I was either given incorrect information or misunderstood the medical professional I spoke to. This is a big relief. Now I just need to find a city midwife!

Thanks for the recommendation. I just had a quick look on the net and they both sound great. I've emailed Jan so hopefully i'll hear back soon. Crossing my fingers she's available. I've also heard back from Pregnancy Partners that Neil Pattison could fit me in. Am now thinking going private isn't necessary though and I really could do with saving $4200!! A city midwife seems like the way to go.
