QuoteReplyTopic: Nothing but a Gest Sac... Posted: 07 September 2012 at 5:08pm
Hi all, as my ticker says I thought I was 6w3d today but was a bit unsure so I had a dating scan this morning. Apparently I'm only measuring 5w2d which means I would have gotten a positive HPT at 3 weeks. Is that even possible? All the scan showed was a little black bubble. The sonographer didnt even talk to us but I saw her measure the bubble then put up GS and YS which I'm assuming are Gestational Sac and Yolk Sac? Has anyone else had this situation? I'm not sure what there should have been etc. Thanks in advance!
I got a very faint BFP at 3 weeks 4 days, was yours faint? I would think the sonographer would have told you if they thought something was wrong. Good luck.
It wasn't faint at all. It came up within two minutes and it wasn't even FMU. I did three tests over three days and all were very clear positives, not incredibly dark but definite without a doubt positives.
When I had an early scan I was told that it was a good sign when they could see the yolk sac separate from the gestational sac. Fingers crossed this is positive for you too. (I would also have expected them to tell you if the pregnancy was not viable(I have had this news before at a scan) although it sounds like they weren't very communicative at all.
Thanks Shellgirl! I don't even know for sure if there was the yolk sac. She said pretty much nothing but definitely put the YS up on the screen. What else could YS stand for?!
I got my BFP with my second at 3pm and I would have been only 3 weeks pregnant.Maybe a couple of days less.It was very clear and not faint at all. Hes a happy healthy 3 year old
I think YS does stand for Yolk Sac,I can't find anything else it might stand for
This also happened to me early on was told i had proabbaly had a missed-miscarriage and to go back in a week or so for another scan, i went back a week later and saw a teeny tiny healthy baby :-)
