Another MS topic, I bet there are hundreds on here already but I am too lazy to sort through them!

We are trying for baby number two and after being quite ill and also hospitalised during my first pregnancy I am hoping to find some ways to manage morning (or all day) sickness next time around.

I have heard some people use accupunture to ease symptoms. Has anybody got some feedback on this? Could it even be used to prevent it all together?

I recall my mw telling me that Elevit can make it worse too so I din't bother taking any last time but instead was on prescribtion FA only.

Are there other vitamins/herbs I can take to help with ms?

Here we go again, another baby on it's way!

I did accupuncture. It was awesome, the sooner you start it the more effective it is

I'm taking Blackmore's Morning Sickness pills (vitamin B6 and ginger) every 8 hours which seem to help me a bit (not entirely, but after pregnancy #1 with bad ms all the way through I wanted something to help even a bit!), still a bit of vomiting and feeling ick but not nearly as bad as last time (i.e. not vomiting EVERY day). I never ended up in hospital, but I know it's horrible day in and day out. I got them from Healtheries store, not all supermarkets have them.

You can get some drugs from your doctor (you might need to beg and wheedle), like Promethazine and such which are anti-histamine based and are commonly used for travel-sickness which can help some people, so it might be worth asking. Most of them don't stop the nausea though, they just stop you bringing up as much, helping you to stay hydrated and fed.

It's worth trying different things to see if they help you. But good to get some idea of what's available before you get pregnant rather than when you're too sick to try and sort something like this out.

Hi there, I am currently 8 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child and have been really struggling with morning sickness this time round. Over the last couple of weeks I have tried a few medications which all had really bad side effects for me and I was starting to despair.

Although I was very sceptical, my husband insisted that I try sea-band wrist bands (normally used for travel sickness I thought) and amazingly they have worked and I can function again. For $24 from the chemist they have been an absolute life-saver. Thanks hubby!
