Just wondering how much weight everyone has put on around the 16-17 week mark?

Originally I was 63kgs. I was sick for the first 12 weeks and went down to about 61kgs. I am now up to 66kgs!!! I feel like I have put on waaayyyy too much weight over the last month!!!

I'm 25 weeks now, I gained 10 kg in the first 12 weeks and then only another 3 kg or so since. I'm incubating twins though, I expect I'll be piling it on soon!

I read you will put on between 10 - 13kgs during pregency. 3kgs doesn't sound like way too much.

I know I put on more the 1st trimester then the second and I have notice my weight gain has definately slowed down in the third. I'm putting it down to eating more in the 1st trimester to control the constant sick feeling

I wouldn't worry so much (easier said then done!) as the weight you lost and gained backed was obviously needed for you and baby. As long as you eat healthy and exercise your weight gain will properly even out.

I wouldn't worry about the weight gain sounds normal. I put on 4 kg's before finding out I was preggers, almost fell off the scales when I weighed myself at my first midwife appointment. Had another one yesterday and now I have lost a kg..Midwife didn't seem concerned at all....... Who knows what your body is doing??? It has a mind of it's own at the moment.... well that's what I am learning anyway.....

Do midwives usually weigh people at appointments? I thought they stopped doing that?

Hey there, I'm just over 16 weeks as well! Started off at 64kg and am now 67 and I didn't have any morning sickness or anything do have just been eating! In your second trimester you're supposed to gain between 4-6kg but more or less is fine for different weights! I hate gaining weight as well but you have to remember its all about keeping that baby healthy and you shouldn't be taking too much notice of your weight as long as your eating well and three meals a day! Good luck :)

I put around 13 kgs on with each of my babies which is quite a big increase on my normal weight but breastfeeding soon took care of that. Don't forget that it's not just the weight of the baby, there's a whole lot more growing and getting heavier - uterus, amniotic fluid, placenta, extra blood etc. So you can't fight it!

e-faith - some do, some don't.

Like the other ladies have said it is all individual and really hard to 'know'.
I lost nearly 10kgs in the first trimester and am just now up to pre-preg weight plus nearly 2kgs so who knows!
