I did a search on this & didn't come up with much so thought I'd ask others experiences.

I've got fluid levels of 6 at 34 weeks & the range they like is 8-18 with under 5 not at all good.

At the moment I'm drinking copious amounts of water to see if that'll help boost the fluid level, anyone have experience that this has definitely helped? I'm normally a shocker for drinking water & my last pregnancies I probably drank enough cause I was at work.

I am also suspected IUGR as well which will stem probably from low fluid as well but more interested in people experiences re the low fluid and increasing it.

I had low fluid with my dd at a 32week scan and then again at a 36week scan. I drank heaps of water and rested alot in the last 4 weeks of pregnancy and by 38week scan fluid looked normal again and by the time I gave birth (at 40+5) I had tonnes of fluid lol!

From memory the only thing you can do is drink water and rest?

Hope it works for you and good luck for the next few months!

Yeah I don't think there is anything else you can do? I've got filtered water from my parents place tonight & that is far far nicer! Might have to get myself a filter jug!

I'm trying to not be up and about too much and lying down each arvo, but with a school kid & toddler it makes it a little tough lol

Lol yeah I can imagine rest being a little harder to come by then if it was your first :-)

Definitely change up your water if possible, makes it easier to drink tones of it. I used to drink a little sparkling water as well just to make it a bit different from normal water.

Hi Kel - hope things improve for you, and hopefully you manage to squeeze in some rest.  Water is all I can drink at the moment.     Gets a bit boring, but I add a touch of Raspberry or Lime Thriftee and it makes a big difference to the amount I am able to drink.  Filtering also definitely helps.  All the best in the coming weeks!

We got a fluid level of 8 today, still need monitoring but drinking lots of water has obviously helped, there could be error due to the sonographer but least we've come up a lot, plus I've definitely got way bigger in the tummy area.

I had low fluid at a scan at 28 weeks with my DD's pregnancy. I can't remember what the level was, but they said it was below acceptable levels.

So I increased my intake of water, and it seemed to help as at the next scan, my fluid levels were back up to acceptable levels again.

Makes sense that if your body is dehydrated, there isn't as much amniotic fluid.

Scan again this morning shows 11.4 for fluid levels so drinking 3ltrs of water a day has definitely improved my fluid levels
