I'm now 31 weeks pregnant so not far to go, but i've absolutely HAD IT with my skin. Its got all these little red bumps around my chin, nose and cheeks. They tend to get quite dry too so make-up looks horrid. I went to the docs who put me on a low dose of antibiotics (baby safe), that did nothing!
I'm using a very gentle cleanser, mostly eat fruit, vege's and home made yoghurt, drink shed loads of water and home made vege juice and NOTHING seems to work. I know i'm on the home straight and this is totally for vanity but this has been going on since i was 4 months or so. It’s stopped me going to heaps of social events as i feel like i look hideous!
Does anyone have anything new i could try, or even better, a magic solution?
I can go on the antibiotics that will cure it but only after i've breast fed, and that could be months or years away! Don't think i'll have a face left by then!

It may just be hormanal and go again once your progesterone levels drop after baby is born. Ive not had that, but have got funny skin tags thins with my first 2 prgnancies that have dissaperaed after baby is born.
If it was me I would go to a naturopath for advise.

Mine was really bad in my first trimester and then was okay for the second but has now gotten bad again in the last few weeks. I did try drinking a glass of apple juice a day during my first trimester and that seemed to help but could just have been a coincidence. Worth a try though.....

Yip, pretty sure its just hormonal, like everything else.
Apple juice you say MrsH. Haven't heard that one. Although i do add 2 granny smiths to my daily vege juice.
Just went and bought some tea tree as a last resort. Let the stinking begin.....

Argh its hard isn't it? I have a different problem - I am getting really dark brown marks on my face, really nasty hormone marks...sux that I can't do anything about it

Don't really have any advice but I can sympathize!

Thanks butterfly_mum.
I hope i'm not speaking too soon, but this week it seems to have all cleared up. I don't know if its because i used tea tree oil a couple of times (it started to dry up and peel after 2 days so I stopped using) or if my hormones have decided to bugger off, but somethings changed. I can actually go out in public now!! Lets hope over the next 8 weeks it stays the same. Hallelujah!

Oh bummer, but great about the tea tree oil. I've used it for a few things before and it's great!

I was writing to say I would recommend going to see a homeopath. I went to Kaylene Henderson (based at Waterford Bc) and she is amazing for helping solve anything pregnancy related! I had lots of little weird things going on during pregnancy and it was great.

All the best!

Cool, thanks for that smw85! Wish i known that ages ago but things have cleared up significantly now. i stopped the tea tree as it was too harsh but got onto using Organic Apple Cider vinegar, mixed with water, as a toner. It has worked wonders. Thank goodness!
My MW works out of Waterford, so kinda wish she would have said something months ago and saved me all this hideousness and $$$.
