    Posted: 04 September 2011 at 6:13pm
I'm nearly 15 weeks, and wondering what the position of my cervix should be at this point (worrying that it's too low). I'm seeing my MW in a couple of weeks, and will ask her then, but wondering if anyone could fill me in?

I wouldn't have a clue but I didn't think you were meant to be fiddling round up there while preggers?

I wouldnt be fiddling either to be honest.

They can check your cervix during your scans, did they do that during your NT scan?

from what I understand (read it in a book somewhere) your cervix position changes during the pregnancy. When I conceived but before I got my BFP, the first thing I noticed was it went higher and was tightly closed.
Later on it does come back down. As you get closer to your due date it will start to go up and thin out from the pressure of the baby. This is how the doctor of MW knows at 40 weeks if you are getting close or not.
Like the others say, you need to be very careful of infection as an infection can cause a early labour. I would try to relax and trust that your body knows what it needs to do.
Everybody is different though and the position changes so you can't really tell too much by it.

Thanks guys- I haven't been obsessing over it or poking around too much- it was just something I noticed. Wasn't too worried, but I remembered my doc saying something at my first appointment (5 weeks) about it not having gone up yet, and was surprised it still seemed lowish. Will happily ignore it now.
