Does anyone have any recommendations for a midwife in Southland? Looking for someone with a hands-off approach.

Billie-Jean McManus is great, she's my midwife this time round. I have a high risk and intervention pregnancy though.

Just wanted to wish you a happy and healthy pregnancy and that you find a midwife that will suit what you want.

You could try Liz Whyte (out in Winton, but comes to Invercargill). She does homebirth and is great.

I had Jane Chaloner, from winton and she was awesome! Shes only young, but pretty much let me do what I wanted. Only stepped in when it was necessary but other than that was cruisy enough to let me do what I wanted really! And she was good cos she always listened to any concerns I had (which weren't many, so probably why she listened!)

Never talked about it but I can imagine her being open to the idea at least She seems pretty easy going!
