I have a very petite little girl is about 7.5 kg at 17 months. Am thinking that toilet training won't be far away. I checked out the training pull up the other day and they are for abut 11 Kg up, so never going to fit.

I think that a cloth nappy would work just as well, as would give her that wet feeling. When she little I trialled clot nappies, but had trouble with them as none fit her around the legs (too skinny). So haven't really used them ths far.

Has anyone use cloth naps in this way?

Yep we have cloth training pants (have only used cloth so don't know what the disposable kind are like). My DD is a bit bigger than yours at 10.5kg but she fits the Real Nappies training pants fine, even though they say from 14kg+

We also have some Bright Bots ones that my mum bought, there must be different sizes as the ones we have are size Large (says waist 55cm).

The Real Nappies ones can be bought from the Baby Factory (and probably other places but that's where ours came from) and are great in that they hold a whole wee without leaking which is great for the start of toilet training. The Bright Bots ones don't contain a whole wee but are padded enough to catch little dribbles if they don't quite get to the loo on time.

Haven't tried any other brands of training pants.
Hope that helps

ETA have just checked the Real Nappies website and their training pants are sized too, so you could get small which says from 9kg but that should be fine.

Thanks, will go check them out. I think he Baby cheeks ones were the closest I found to fitting, so will check them out at the same time.

Don't have anything helpful to add about training pants - but I saw at babycity yesterday they have cloth nappies on sale - not sure if that includes training pants as well but might be worth checking if they have the ones you're after

I've just bought a couple of different types of cloth pull up type things but have just checked and they both start at 10.9Kg. What I have been doing though while I wait for those is using an itti boo without the inserts in, it's enough to get him to the loo but not save a whole massive wee as I don't put the cover on (but you could) and that seems to be working quite well as without the inserts he feels the wetness.

If you were interested in disposibles Treasure do "nappy pants" in a crawler size 6-11kg. They are just like pull ups.

That's true Natalie! My bub is in knickers around home, I just put her in the training pants if we're going out. She's pretty good though and only pees in them if she falls asleep before going on the toilet.
Today though she was just in one pair of knickers and stayed dry all day yay!
