Topic: 2nd baby Posted: 30 November 2010 at 4:05pm |
I am preg with baby number 2. Put on 25+ kg with number one, still had 10kg to loose and now preg again. Happy but wish I lost the weight first. Hoping I dont put on as much with number two? My stomach looks like I looked at 4 months preg with baby number one and I am only 8/9 weeks now!! Is this normal? I struggle to hide I am preg!

I was the same with baby number 2 at 9 weeks preggies i looked about 5 months i ws huge!!!
it's becasue all the stomach muscles are stretched heaps and therefore don't hold baby in as well as they do with number 1.!
I remember when i was 6 months preggie with DS2 in an elevator and a lady( a complete stranger)said
"gee you must be due any day!
i said" no i'm only 6 months"
she said "gosh you are HUGE"
I wish i had said "yeah it's triplets" !!
Just to see her reaction instead i was shocked and just said "yeah"
After that i was out and proud i didn're care if people said was massive i was proud to be pregnant and didn't care at all.
by the way DS2 was only 9p 7oz so not that big!
I say let it show!

Congratulations!
I am 6 weeks pg and look the same as 3-4 mths last time! I don't think I will get to 3 mths before my colleagues click.
I put on 19 kgs last time so I imagine it will be more this time.
According to google it seems that 2nd pregnancy's tend to show alot earlier - that will be my excuse anyway and I'm sticking to it!

try not to worry about it too much, just keep to a reasonable eating lifestyle and deal with it wayyyyyyy later after bubs is born,
I stacked on the weight really early in this pregnancy and have no clue how as I was barely eating and what i did eat it just got thrown straight back up in the loo. Took me a while to get my head around the fact that I was gonna get huge but I know that i've lost a lot of weight once before so when the time is right I can do it again.

I put on a lot of weight while preg with my oldest, then when i got preg 5 years later with Jae I was still a good 10kg up from my starting weight first time. I kept a close eye on what i ate/did and ended up at the same weight as i was at 36w with him, total weight gain of 10kg, as opposed to the 25kg+ first time.
Just because you stacked it on first time around, doesnt always mean you will next time too... I must admit i was a LOT lazier and had a 'she'll be right' attitude to anything I ate with my first, and had already switched to a healthier lifestyle immediately prior to getting preg 2nd time (was actually trying to lose weight to get on IVF waiting list!) so i think being much more careful made the difference for me.
This time around I had JUST got back to starting weight with #2, and so far have managed to keep it down to 4.5kg gain, aiming to gain no more than 10kg by the end!

I think I'll exercise a lot more this time and watch what I eat so I dont put the 20+ kg on. Then when baby is born I will go hard out to loose the weight as I feel soo uncomfortable carrying the weight and I want to get back to fit and healthy. My stomach is really popping out...def baby bump going on!

Oh my gosh raspberry jam, where are your stretch marks!?!? You lucky thing!
I also showed wayyyyy earlier with this pregnancy, I thought I looked ridiculously pregnant at 8-9 weeks. Now at 21 weeks I've only had one of those annoying 'god you're big aren't you' comments (which I just think are so RUDE!)

I showed alot sooner with #2 as well. The way I see it everything is already stretchy and your body doesn't have to 'fight' to expand. You might find that it evens out later in your pg

I've been pregnant 4 times (currently on my 4th) and m youngest was only 10wks when I got pregnant so I deffinetly showed alot faster. I think it depends on the person but when I'm pregnant I just eat and do whatever I want and try to enjoy it
Raspberry Jam - that is a very impressive bump, how far along were you??
