Topic: Cycle after miscarriage Posted: 30 April 2010 at 8:29pm |
Hi all,
just wondering about your cycles after your miscarriages. Did anybody go straight back into their regular cycle as if the miscarriage was day 1? Did anybody get pregnant in that first cycle after a miscarriage, and if so, was it a sticky baby??
Am keen to hear everyone's experiences.
I miscarried on the 8th April at 12.5 weeks. I think I ovulated on my normal day (19) which is very surprising for me. But I'm not entirely sure. It makes things very difficult!!!
Thanks.

I know the lovely NZpiper feel pg with her lovely boy James the cycle after a mc.
I waited one cycle, but I ovulated quite late in that cycle anyway and my LP was way too short for an egg to implant.
Jake was conceived the very next cycle
That cycle was only a few days longer than my longest cycle so not really too much out of the norm but that cycle can be up to 6 weeks and that is considered normal, especially with you being a bit further along as it can take longer for your HCG to drop.
Hope that helps.... Sorry for your loss

My cycle went back in so far as I had my period on time. However with all the complications I had no idea when I ovulated.

My cycle was way longer than normal post MC, first cycle being 43 days (15 day LP), next cycle was 35 days, and this cycle would have been 32 days. My LP was long enough that if I had got PG my first cycle it woiuld have had time to implant, how ever we didnt try the first 2 cycles as I was having knee surgery in Aug and couldnt be PG, but got PG just after surgery.
I have a friend who got PG their first month, MCed waited a month, got PG, MC, waited a month, got PG the next month and had her beautiful baby boy. Her cycle stayed at 28 days through out all of that. So I think its up to each persons body...
I charted (started about 3 w after I MC) and was glad I did as the not knowing when/if I was oving was doing my head in!
If your cycle is irregular, Vitex is great at regulating it (it balances out your hormones)
Anyway, sorry for the novel, I always seem to go into way too much detail! I hope your cycle sorts its self out

My cycle is 31 days like clockwork and after both miscarriages went straight back to normal, as if the MC was day 1.
I waited for 3 periods after my first MC and then got preggy again first pop! I now have a busy, beautiful 1 year old son.
Best of luck to you :)

My cycle went back to a normal 28 day cycle straight after (and was alot easier than usual! Although I've heard the 2nd AF after a mc is worse, but I'm yet to find out if that's the truth)
Big and I hope everything returns to normal asap.
My sister got pregnant 2 weeks after a mc, and has a beautiful girl who's almost 10 now

I had a D&C and had a normal AF exactly 28 days later. We didnt wait a cycle before TTC again, the Gyne I saw at the hospital said there was no medical reason to wait.
I hope things return to normal for you
ETA to make sense!

Hi Kellyd,
I've just finished my first AF after MC.
My cycle was only 24 days, where usually they are bang on 35, and AF lasted the normal 5 days for me.
Has AF arrived for you yet hun? x

Hey all, so very excited that my AF arrived on time!!! Started Friday/Sat which was day 30 for me, so my M/C was just like day 1. Has been a bit heavier then normal, but aren't our bodies amazing.
So now I have day 19 (ovulation day) marked in my diary, and hubby will be having a great week that week!!!
