Jack is showing all the signs of being ready to TT, someoe them he has been showing for months and months. He loves sitting on the toilet or standing up at it, pulling toilet paper off and wiping his bum, can take his pants off himself, was dry all night last night even with a drink at bedtime and one during the night and is often dry for hours during the day.
However, he doesn't tell me before or after he has done a wee and doesn't always tell me when he has a dirty nappy. Despite this I have been putting him in undies (which he loves) for the last half of th afternoon lately. Yesterday I cleaned up 3 accidents, today was one this morning and 2 this afternoon, grrrr! When he wee's I just say "Mummy will clean it up, next time tell Mummy if you need to do a wee in the toilet". I even ask him every so often if he needs to go and he either says No or goes to the toilet, tugs on his willy, says "no wees" and heads off to play!

So what do I do? Keep putting him in undies? Give up? Anything else I can try?

Personally, I'd keep going We did with our Jack, first day we had 10 accidents, within a week he was going often and had 2 accidents, now he has maybe 1 a day which isn't bad seeing as he's in care full time now and is quite often a bit distracted.

If he's holding on for that long I would think he's ready. Often boys need to feel the wee running down the leg and thinking its gross before they actually do it on the toilet.

Oh and bribery works to start with too

I so know where you are coming from. Tom had a "dry" week last week when most days his nappy or pull up was dry at the end of the day as I had been putting him on the toilet (not too often either). So yesterday I put undies on after he had been to the toilet....3 accidents in as many hours....even with a toilet stop. sigh.

We are often busy in the mornings with kindy and playcentre so will continue with the undies in the afternoon. Might even try and get him on the toilet in the morning or at least sitting on the potty while he watches tv!
