What do i do now?
Eden is 2 in March and is quite a little girl... anyway this afternoon she comes up to me and tells me poo.. uh oh i think and go looking. Nothing. she is holding her bum tho so i put on a nappy and five mins later she comes back with a sad look on her face and says poos! Sure enough she needs a change.
Now none of he boys did this and both were 3 when they finally TTed and they just went straight to the toilet.
Eden on the other has too small a bum and is quite a bitr shorter than the boys were so i am thinking i might need a potty...
so whats the best way to go about that?
need some help cause this is so different from my previous TT experiences.
Hard to say. Elle had a teeny bum and was scared on the big toilet so we went with a potty. She naturally progressed to the toilet all on her own when she felt she had sufficient balance etc. She is still so little she nearly falls in LOL.
You are welcome to borrow ours if that is how to decide to go.
We started with a potty for Leah then got one of the seats that has a toddler seat and a normal seat. She will still use the potty, but mainly when she is being silly.

where do you get those seats from? are they annoying for adults to use?
We got one from the warehouse, you just put it on for the toddler, it doesn't need to stay in place permanently. Spencer is terrified of the loo, even with his little padded seat, so we are using a potty for now. We are only TTing at home at the mo cos too many accidents for out and about but I guess until he is no longer scared of toilets the potty will have to come out with us.
We got a toilet seat insert which had ducks on it and has handles too to help balance themselves.
The ducks give them an extra incentive to sit on it. (We're only at sitting on the toilet, and pushing paper down stage).
I've no idea where to get it in Auckland however.
The most important thing for inserts is to make sure it fits your toilet. The initial one I bought was too small and it moved when they sat on it and wouldn't touch the toilet again for months!
Also a friend if mine has a toilet seat which has a toddler 'layer'. She highly recommends it and if I wasn't in a rental house I probably would have bought it. They can get bought at Mitre 10 Mega.
Sophie is 2 on 7 Feb and is in her third week of undies so I say go for it .
She had been telling us for a while when she had done poos and then started saying poos and then doing them a few minutes later. We decided that we would just give it a go as we have had a hell of a time with Amy and thought that if Sophie was out of nappies then we might get Amy dry too .
As Sophie had not noticed wees we got a potty for the lounge for the firs week and rolled up the rug (thank god for wooden floors) and put on the undies. She got it within a couple of days. Even with a broken arm on day 6 she still wanted potty and undies.
We have the potty next to the toilet at the moment and next week we will start using the toilet more and potty less. We have a seat that sits on top of the main seat and it has handles. Also very important is a little step. I think we got the seat from Baby Factory but I am not sure.
My SIL gave us ours and they are great, there is a little lid and the little seat then our big seat. Easy to clean etc. We just got them for playcentre too.
We just got a cheap insert from the warehouse (bright pink and glittery) and a stool. Maddi usually asks to go to the toilet at a nappy change or if Keira is going. When she asks I will always take her and I put her on, she can't get herself off either so thats one way of getting her to stay We haven't yet had anything from her but its all good practice.
I did pretty much the same with Keira until she figured out how to climb on herself. It always involved her taking her pants right off and then not being able to put them back on. When she got a bit bigger we taught her how to pull her pants to her ankles and slide onto the regular seat.
