I work 50 hours a week and my 2 year old needs to be in a daycare during that time.

I had her in a wonderful daycare on the North Shore but had to move jobs (redundancy) and could no longer drop or fetch her in time there. Now she is in a daycare in the Auckland CBD - right next to my office.

I've been noticing odd things I wasnt happy with but nothing too alarming. Then yesterday I wanted to take her home early and arrived there at lunch time. Now that I see how they are taking care of my little girl I want her out.

I couldnt bring myself to send her there today so DH has had to take the day off work to look after her - he is a contractor so its unpaid and we really need the money.

Can anyone recommend a good daycare in the CBD? Or knows if there's another potential solution?

Does anyone pay a nanny/other parent to fetch their child from daycare?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I love our daycare in the CBD and enrolled DD there on recommendations from others - but now I'm paranoid about it being the same as yours! Do you want to PM the name, and hopefully it's not and I can recommend the one we use.

My Mum picks Issy up from DC on the day DH is in school (he works there the other days she goes), so we are lucky in that sense.

I found a couple I liked in Parnell is that CBDish enough? I looked into them when we lived in Parnell.

Gladstone Park & Parnell Trust ECE, I like the settings being more park like than office building. Oh and Bear Park Parnell is good but I didnt like the surroundings (its in a business area)
Mummy to Issy (3) and Elias (18 months)

I did it .. 41 kgs gone! From flab to fab in under a year LFs weight blog

Thank you - I am looking into these and seeing how far from work each is.

Has anyone heard anything about Uptown Kids on Queen Street? They seem the next closest to my office.

you should be able to walk into any daycare at any time and not be concerned - best bet is use your lunch time or breaks to go into any CBD ones and have a look....I found suprise visits worked VERY well to distinguish the good from the bad and I still often pop into Ellas one when ever ...

not sure where u are on nth shore but know there are some with extended hours around...I think ABCs have pushed their hours out...
