Topic: How long should I wait?? Posted: 17 May 2009 at 9:16am |
I am currently about 5 1/2 wks pg. Found out last Wed that my hcg's are dropping so it isn't a viable pregnancy. I have been have some spotting/bleeding since last Monday but still haven't started bleeding properly. As of Thursday, my hcg was 102 so I would have thought it should have dropped enough by now to have started bleeding?? The waiting is driving me insane, I just want it over and done with And I still have sore boobs which is p!ssing me off aswell!!
Oh and I've read about some pills you can take to make everything happen (would rather that than surgery), can I get these from my gp or would I need to see a specialist? Thanks.

Awww Kelly, hugs hun I hope it's all over for you soon. One thing with my first natural m/c was that I went for a scan a few days after to make sure everything had come away, to avoid an infection i guess.

Oh KH25 - I can't believe you have to go through this again
I've not taken the pills myself so I don't know who you would get them from - GP would be a good place to start.
Can they refer you to a specialist to find out if there is anything they can do to help - 3 MCs is just heartbreaking

Thanks guys. The bleeding has slowed considerably and I haven't passed any clots for a few hours so I think it is just about over. I didn't get much sleep last night with quite bad cramping, I finally got to sleep to be woken half an hour later from a friend texting me to say she had just had her baby Not good timing.....
Anyway, yip I'm booked in to see a spec next month so hopefully he will be able to find out what is going on, fingers crossed.

I'm so sorry, m/c are so sad.
Since your bleeding has already started, I don't think there will be any assistance by having pills. Unless there are any odd drugs you are taking, you can try again immediately though....if you're ready. Beware the baby blues this week, take things easy *hugs*

So sorry for your loss. I know how upsetting it is to wonder if you will ever get another child. My little boy is also two and I have had three MC last year.
The pill is an option if a scan shows you have retained products. It basically causes you to dilate and your lining to come away. When I took it I miscarried within 4 hours of the first pill.

I took Misoprostol (I think that's the name of it) for my first m/c and everything came away within the first couple of days - I started bleeding properly the afternoon that I had them (I took them about 1pm). Before that I had only had brown spotting. I took it as my HCG levels were staying the same even though I had been having brown spotting for a good few weeks, but there wasn't enough of a lining to enable a D&C - the D&C would have done more damage.

Thanks guys, yeah I was only wondering about the medication when I was still only brown spotting and not bleeding yet. But I have since miscarried (is that a word??) naturally and the bleeding has all but stopped.
Thanks for all your thoughts, on to the next stage of specialists for me...
