hi there, just wondered if I should be worried or not. I had a stillbirth at 21 weeks on 18 March and then had light bleeding that dwindled to nearly nothing over 4 weeks. Then a week ago i started getting fresh blood, and a few days ago it really took off and now i have the heaviest bleeding I can remember - i think its a period which the doctor said would be heavy, but its still heavy after 5 days and I'm not sure what is normal.....i feel fine, no fever or anything so i'm assuming I'm not sick - but would love to hear from anyone who can help!

I recently had a stillbirh too. I haven't had my first period but I've been told that if I do and it feels excessive to go to my GP. Sorry I can't help more than that.

thanks Stacey, i went to the GP this morning as no let up, she has prescribed me some tablets, cyklolapron which apparently should stop the bleeding. She thought it was probably my first period though.

Hopefully these tablets work, will let you know.

Stacey just to let you know - read your posts on another forum and totally totally undersrtand what you're going through. I do hope you are feeling better now. For me, scattering our baby boys ashes where my mum is buried really seemed to help me. To be honest, I'm now in a place where i can deal with it if I don't think about the whole thing.
My neighbour told me its like having a rock in your heart, you just get used to carrying it around but it never totally goes away.

anyway wanted to tell you my period finally stopped - no thanks to any doctor or specialist visits. I must have had some tissue still there and once that was out its all back to normal physically.

I too have a really hard time imagining trying for another baby. Rationally i know i want to have a sibling for our daughter, but the thought of being pregnant again totally terrifies me. I think i knew we would only have 2 kids, so feel like thats it and I'm done.

Anyway i hope this helps. It sounds like we went through things at around the same time (Frank was born 18 March).

Glad to hear eveything has settled down for you. I had a stillbirth in jan so I understand where you are coming from to.

Having another baby is deffinatly a hard thing to do and if you do chose to do it again make sure you are really ready. I got pregnate very quickly after alistair and I do think now that it was a bit soon.

Thanks, I'm just finishing my first period and it was much heavier than usual but not too nasty thankfully. I'm thinking of going to the GP and getting back on the pill so I don't have to deal with a period for a while lol.

I don't think I want to do pregnancy again. Going through another 4+ months of horrid morning sickness is enough to put me off without the added stress of worrying about fetal abnormalities
