Don't you just hate it when your kids get everything at once?

Elle has had to start lactulose to get her bowl sorted and spent Fri to Sun struggling with the most horrific bowel motions. She went from gripe to gripe and was so upset

Then today she woke up with the reddest cheek and is clearly getting her 2 yo molars.

Now she has to have a test for low iron as she is low in energy, highly irritable, pale and complaining constantly of a headache. She has been begging me "see Doctor Bill Mummy, head sore". She clearly knows he helps her feel better but he is all booked up until Thurs.

She's been spending lots of time sitting or lying on the floor with her blanket :(

Doesn't it just break your heart to see your kids miserable? It is also annoying when you have to wait for tests etc to confirm what you already know!

I just want my energetic giggly girl back. No more crying please!

:(

Poor wee girl! Sienna is a bit the same at the moment She has gunk pouring out of her right ear despite being on antibiotics, and now as a lovely side effect of the antibiotics she is chronically constipated. Since Friday she has been walking around saying bum, bum and straining and even crying when she is trying to pass a BM, and they are like hard little marbles. So far we've tried pure orange juice, plenty of fruit, pureed apple and brown sugar in water. If she hasn't sorted it by tomorrow I'm gonna give either lactulose or coloxyl go coz it can't be good for her.

We will when the doc gives it to us! Pharmacy stuff does zero for iron deficiency.

Oh and tried prune juice hence resorting to lactulose for a period of time.

Dr Bill - As in the Osteo? How's an Osteo going to help?

....couldn't he make things worse by fluffing around with her head when the wee poppet has enough to deal with already?

I hope she comes right soon, Lucas was constipated about a week or so ago when he went on yet another food strike, nothing a bit of Kiwifruit juice didn't fix. But I second the lactulose, I took that after birth to help with bowel motions (had zillions of stitches and a fear of going to the toilet lol)

He is a chiropractor. Sore neck = sore head. He helps heaps! She is always so much happier after seeing him. The effect is quite amazing.

Shame it's not long term, only a short term fix - THAT'S clearly how they make their money

I'm confused, how can Dr Bill help her constipation, and sore head, what if it's something more serious? Can he prescribe her meds?

It's such a shame that a week after you were given the all clear she is unwell

Well when your kid is miserable even short-term relief helps and it most certainly won't be for ever. It is just like physio -the body needs to be retrained. Nothing is instantaneous with the body.

It works for Elle and that is all that really matters. She adores Bill and relaxes so wonderfully during the treatment and is so relaxed and happy afterwards. It's just if she has a fall or an illness that her body reverts to its old ways. Eventually it won't revert.

Before Elle I didn't believe in anything other than medical doctors. I thought everything else was about the power of suggestion. However, Elle isn't suggestable, if she is massively better after a consult, it is because it is doing some good in her body. We go roughly every 4 to 6 weeks and it costs next to nothing as he doesn't charge us anywhere near full price.

Bizzy - her iron supplement was stopped 6 months ago. She has been having incremen but if you have iron issues it isn't enough.

This thread was just about how said it is when kids are sick. I thought others would share stories.

When her neck and pelvis are out she gets headaches...just like we do. Her neck and pelvis were out from birth until about 19 months so in the case of growth, injury etc, they can tend to revert to their "learned" positions. In time they will not do this. Bill puts them back (very gently of course! nothing major) until they hold for themselves.

I get major migraines when my neck is out as the blood flow to the brain is hindered. The only thing is I don't pay for myself to see someone but Elle is more important (and cheap!)

Soooo, enough about debating the ins and outs of chiropractors! We all have differing views based on our experiences.

Anyone else got a sad bubba at the mo?

I have a sad bubba he's got Croup again, 2nd time in a month and he's had some Redipred. He's had a snotty nose for the past couple of weeks... but in saying that he's in very good spirits. In fact him and Chiara were a coughing chorus on Saturday!

Ahh, nightmares. My friends 2.5 year olds have started getting them too. They seem to have a big run of them and then they settle.    Not nice for them.

Elle clearly had a dream the other day...she was fast asleep and having a conversation about wanting some milk. LOL.

Maya used to have night terrors, that was scary coz she'd get really, really distressed and hysterical but still be fast asleep.

We get night terrors here if Elle has less than 1 hour sleep in the day. If she is overtired she always gets terrors. She doesn't wake and doesn't know she's had them though.

She just woke a moment ago...sore head apparently
