I've been trying to prepare for my appointment by gathering as much information as I can and trying to think of everything that he might want/need to know. When thinking back over the past 18 months I remembered a couple of things that happened that I didn't think much about at the time but am now wondering if they are an issue that I should tell him about.

About 12 months ago I was having "intermenstural bleeding" I would started having very light, brown bleeding at around 5-6dpo so after the 2nd month of this I went to my GP and he sent me for an ultrasound. The ultrasound came back fine except for 3 tiny fibroids and some "debris" behind the uterus. The radiologist suggested it could be an infection but I had no signs/symptoms of one. My doctor checked anyway but couldn't find anything. So that was weird thing number 1. The second thing was that the transvaginal part of the ultrasound was quite uncomfortable and at times downright painful. I have since read that it shouldn't cause pain or discomfort and should be less painful than a manual gynaecological exam. The third thing was that back in November my GP had me do a urine pg test (can't remember why now) and there were (TMI WARNING) little white floaties in it. I quite often get this and thought it was normal and just CM or something but my GP sent my urine away to test for a UTI which came back negative. So here are my questions:
1. Has anyone ever had "debris" found during an ultrasound?
2. Has any one ever had a painful ultrasound?
3. Will the gynaecologist (who is also an endo specialist) do a pelvic exam and if so will it hurt?
4. Anyone ever have floaties in their pee?

Hiya Emily, sorry I can't answer for questions, 1,3 & 4 but I can definitely say a big fat yes to the painful ultrasound!

The first vaginal one I had really, really hurt and had me squirming on the table - it showed I had a cyst on both my left and right ovaries. I had a follow-up scan later, but this time I was able to have my bladder full enough so wasn't internal (left cyst 'resolved', right one still very much there and diagnosed as an endometrioma).

After this diagnosis I went to see a specialist - he wanted his own scan and again it was vaginal. Thankfully this one didn't hurt as much, in fact was just 'uncomfortable' so I'm guessing a lot of it is to do with the sonographer and their skills - the first guy I had was apparently quite experienced, just rough as guts it seems!

edited to correct spelling - damn monday mornings!

Hi Angie
That's what's weird. The US didn't show any cysts or anything. And I had 2 sonongraphers - the first one was a trainee and the second one was more experienced - the trainee called in the experienced one because she couldn't identify the debris. Just freaked me out when I read that it should be less painful than a pelvic exam and chances are that I'm going to have a pelvic exam next week. I hate pain

I can only answer number 2. I've only had that lovely ultrasound once and it was a little uncomfy but it wasn't painful for at all

TO ALL MEMBORS WHO ARE VIEWING PLEASE REPLY THANX Hi everyone, i want t explain my situation as its seems no1 has similarties to me. Im 21 and when i was 16 I was diognosed with pcos(polycystic ovaries) i got put on the contraceptive pill microgen 30 to have fake periods. However after about a year or 2 i came off the pill as i saw no reason to be on it.

Had no periods till i split up with my x boyfriend of six months, we did not use protection whilst having sexual intercourse I was 18 at this time. Not having a priod since i was 15 i was shocked to have a perid so i wondered if it was miscarriage without the pain or a scrape as I heard that can happen.
So that question sometimes still lingers in my head.

However 3 months later I had another unexspected period. Ever since then I have not had a period. All the ups and downs were getting me down so i went to docter and said i wanted to get it sorted once and for all and i dont want to be on contraceptive pill. at this time i got with my current boyfriend that im with now.

So anyway the docter sent me to the hospital and they looked at my history and ive had tons of blood tests and they found i have a higher hormone level of testorone the male hormone. They also advised me to put weight on so i did and i am now at healthy weight off 8 stone 6 pounds which went up from 6 pounds.

After about 9 months of being under the hospital they told me im now at a healthy weight and was pleased with that. They then went onto put me onto a normal used by diabetes treatment metformin. I done some research on these and found that most women with pcos on this type of treatment are over weight or have a problem keeping weight off which i have neither of these.

I felt very ill on metformin and dont believe im insulin resistant. Also this treatment makes women lose weight and why would i want to lose weight when i put so much on in the first place which they advised me to do? They only thing that is a bit dodgy is i have a small frame with a belly looking like im 5 months pregnant but i wasnt sure that was pcos related even though the local docter has said it may be and to talk to the hospital about it in my next appointment.

However i came off my metformin and wrote a letter to the hospital to tell them. Since then i have been advised by a friend to take a hebal treatment called femzone which i have been on for roughly two weeks now and so far have had no side affects or any periods but i heard it takes about 3 months for it to start working so im going to try them for about 4 months and see if they work for me.

Now i have my next appointment with the hospital 9th july and i know i have to discuss coming off metformin with them and i know i should tell them ive been using femzone. But if femzone isnt going to work for me I want to go on clomid alltho im not too sure they a diabetes department is going to describe me clomid. This is why in the letter i also asked to see and gynocologist instead. They didnt get back to me though so i guess i just have to wait to see what they say when i go for my appointment. However if i mention i am on femzone and also mention i want to try clomid, are they going to give me time to try femzone and then offer me another appointment if it dont work? Im just so confused!!!!!!

What do u all make of this?????? Any sugesstions? Anything u wanna say i'll be happy to hear it!!!!!! Also anyone else in the same situation as i havent come across any as of yet??????!!!!!!

something i forgot to mention was at the moment i am concentrating ongetting my periods reugar and ovulating then i can think off getting pregnant in the future!!!!!!
jhhgg
