I couldnt believe it.
Last night I was breast feeding my 11 month Jaxon and he was biting me alot... It hurt so much.. ( hes does have about 15 teeth ) lol, but this is the first time he has done it so bad.
I cried cos it hurt and at the same time I dont want to give up breast feeding and the reality of Jaxon being ready to stop breast feeding was becoming very real.The thought of it just made me feel so sad. Dont want my little boy to grow up... lol. I sat there just blubbering. lol... Hubby didnt know what to make of me, haha.
How the hell am I going to be able to give up breast feeding.
Before I had Jaxon I couldnt understand how women could breast feed so long and now I know exactly!!

haha..We cant wait to try for another baby... We are waiting till march next year as I still need to lose more weight first.. and have high blood pressure so need to be healthy first...

i found it hard i wanted to keep feeding emma now two but she weaned herself off at 13months i felt so sad when she didnt want me.

They do stop biting after a while... no reason to stop!! (well, providing he does stop biting... otherwise that's a very good reason to stop)

Benjy's had a few experimental bites while feeding.
I tell him no in a stern voice and that usually upsets him enough to stop.
What do you do when Jaxon bites?
I do understand how you feel. I keep telling myself I want to stop feeding Benjy so that I can have a sleep in again, but when it comes down to it, I don't really want to stop yet at all! I'm giving him till 2 years max, although I think he'll be ready well before then!

haha when Jaxon bites I get a fright and yell argh!!!!!!. Poor wee man.. I dont mean to but its just the first reaction... He just starts to cry.

I was teasing lol. I don't think it's too bad a thing if we yell in fright cause then they get a bad message from biting! It is sometimes a little sad to lose the baby days but at the same time can be quite exciting to see them grow in independence etc, sippy cups, walking, all that stuff is pretty cool.

having you tried yelling ow and then taking him off and not giving him any more until next feed.
I know how sad it is to give up. Jack was 13 months and just wasn't interested and would bite everytime i put him on. I was 5 months preg and couldn't be bothered with battle of making him continue but i was still so gutted.

I would be inclined to agree, when he bites, stop, take him off and say "no biting or no more drink".. or whatever you call it. put him back on, if he does it again, do the same, 3rd time, take him off, say it again and stop the feed altogether. he might not be old enough to understand "no" as such but he will be old enough to understand cause and effect.

I never had a huge biting problem. But I did find it so upsetting when it came time to give up BF at 14mths,I decided when she started walking up to me and pulling my t-shirt up it was time.
It is sad but maybe you could replace the bf with a bottle or cup and at the times you would usually bf give him a cup and cuddle up and read a book or something special for just the two of you. I found this eased the separation problem that I was having with giving up the baby faze of her life.
