I agree, nzpiper! Don't care how pretty they are, you still feel huge. I mean not many people only get a bump - you usually have a progressive 'spread' in other regions as well. It seems theres a real hole in the market for just plain comfortable maternity wear that ANYONE can wear. I'm past caring what people think of how I look. I'm gonna look preggers no matter what!

I agree!
I find it especially difficult to find anything that fits nicely at my normal DD boobies and size 14-16... haven't had a lot of luck yet now that I'm pregnant. (And don't get me started on togs!) Mind you am needing pants more than tops at this stage!!
I get sick of having to buy size 16 or 18 just to accomodate the boobies. Must get into makign my own clothes one of these days... I think I need a lot more practice and plenty more lessons from Mum first though
OK, I'm done with the rant!

bescolly, i know what you mean about togs. I was about 14-16 on top pre preg with DD boobs. I havent gone up much in the boobs and of course the bump is getting huge. I found Max was great for tops!!!! Bottoms were easy for me as I am a 12-14 and havent put any weight on there so all the preggy ones are fine.
Togs!!!!!! OMG!!!!!! i tried some on in Rebel Psort and when I started with size 20!!!!!!! and thought...yeah it fits....today...but probably wont tomorrow I was horrified. Everything makes me feel like a blimp and I desperately want to swim. then there is the white pasty legs and trying to fix the bikini line that I cant see now is another issue.

Hey nzpiper
Have you tried Starfish Swimwear on Colombo St, near Smith City? (there's another thread somewhere here)
They have maternity stuff, bikinis and tank tops. Not the cheapest, but expected for the quality and range!!
I got a bikini and will decide whether or not I want a tank top when I get bigger.
I also recommend the AquaGO classes at Pioneer (and QEII I think).
I must admit my legs look kinda bad, especially with the cycling shorts tan line!! But hey, you're in the water and there are heaps of body shapes out there so don't stress about we are all different adn I'm sure you're beautiful and glowing with pregnancy
PM me if you are keen to join me at Pioneer sometime (AquaGO is monday at 7pm).
*Sorry for the thread hijack*

Thanks bescolly, I had a look there today but the girl was really unhelpful and kinda shrugged and said they only have one option and only one size left 14 (too small for these boobs) and when I asked when would they have more she said "dunno, they are a special item. Dont know if they are making more at the moment" I asked if there was anything else that would work and again a shrug.
Frustrating after hearing such good reviews...prob is its the 2nd time I've been in and got the same girl both times. I was hoping for someone more knowledgable this time.

Oh thats so sad nzpiper
The older lady that I had was quite helpful, although the maternity stuff seemed to be spread around the shop. There were a few styles available. I think I went in Monday lunchtime if that helps!
Perhaps try calling them sometime... I also know that the lady I saw was there on the saturday.

I have a wee maternity wear shop and buy in alot from Aussie as I find their stuff cheap, wearable and practical. They also have really good sizing and go up to larger sizes then we have in NZ.
I know what you mean about NZ stuff tho. i also do 2nd hand stuff and tend to get in lots of different funky stuff from a coupel of seasons ago. JK and PP use to do some really cool, practical but styly stuff, now i find there stuff quite boring.
if you are in chch and want more info PM me.

I agree with Peanut JK & PP maternity clothes are boring - horrid colours and way overpriced for what they are. I have been lucky in that a girlfriend gave me alot of her stuff that was older JK & PP that is way cooler and comfyer than the stuff they have now. Must admit to going to Ezibuy and buying bigger sizes in trackpants/pants/tops as much cheaper and fit fine even with a bump. There yoga trackpants are great as they have a fold over waist that I don't fold over but pullover bump - so comfortable and only $35. Sorry ranting I know but JK & PP have really let me down not only in product but also service when ever I have been into their stores.

No, only small sizes (8 -10) at the moment. Have a new shipment arriving in soon so will have togs in that! Will prob be around the $60 mark and will be out not next week but the week after.
Got a cool denim skirt in 2 days after you came in and was going to PM you but it sold the next day!

no worries Peanut. I tried soooooo many skirts on and nonw looked any good, then mum came down and we went to ballys and I found a Ripe Maternity one that is just perfect (although it might not be for much longer as I couldnt get the next size up so may have limited growing space)

Hey Peanut. Still got to come and check out your store... hopefuly this weekend! I tried to pop in the other weekend thinking that you closed at 3pm :(
Any luck with the togs yet nzpiper?
I went for a look and PP and JK over the weekend and decided that I'm not preggie enough yet!! I also saw some pants in glassons that had a rollover top so must go back. I recommend their singlet though. I got a standard spaghetti strap $16 one and a $30 one that is longer, with a little v neck and gathering above the boobies.

Sorry, shut at 1 on Sat!
Have just got my new stock in so will all be going out today! Heaps of bigger sizes too! No togs tho, apparently they have been delayed and are at least 8 weeks away!
I know what you mean about not being preggy enough and thats what I love about my shop is that its cheap and you can buy a new item every month so that it fits and doesn't have to see you the whole way thru because in the end you will still have spent less than buying expensive items to see you the whole way thru.
