Topic: 41 weeks plus... again! Posted: 14 October 2011 at 10:15am |
So today I'm 9 days overdue with bub #2 and no sign whatsoever of him or her arriving. DD was born at 10 days overdue, but I was already in established labour by this stage (it was a long labour).
I'm just curious as to how long people went over with their second babies, especially those who went over with their first ones.
I'm starting to wonder if it's EVER coming out

Oh dear
I was 11 days over with my first. I think you've just destroyed my hope that number 2 pops out quicker!
All the best! Maybe a trampoline?

I'm wondering too T-Rex. I'm 7 days over today, DD was 11 days over and was induced.
I had a scan today and baby looks far to comfy! I'm hoping that we'll have some action too but it doesn't look too promising.
Hope your little one arrives soon!

I went 7 days over with my first 8 days over with my second and 13 days over with my third.
I had no signs with either my first two that labour was gonna start,I just got bombarded with "kill me now" contractions the days I went into labour.
The baby will come out, they all do,eventually

T-Rex, although I was early with Cooper, I had no idea that labour was impending until my waters broke. Like you with #1 I had loads of build up & a long labour.
So crossing fingers that happens to you.

Haha, thanks ladies. It makes me feel better to know I'm not the only one!
And yes Kel, a nice short labour would really make my day!!
My mum just text me and said "don't worry, it'll come out eventually, it's just reinforcing that it's a different person to DD and isn't going to do what she did right from the start" ... hopefully the same applies to reflux and ears, right?

42+1 with #1 (induced - took 4 days)
42+2 with #1 (induced - took 3 days)
Just call me your little ray of sunshine
My MW thinks I'm a natural 43 weeker as both times, I had really good fluid levels and a similar response to induction. I'm not going to go back for a 3rd time to test her theory

11 days over with #1, induced, 5.5hrs 'active' labour
12 days over with #2, natural, 4 hours from niggles to baby.
It helped me to look at 42 weeks as my 'due' date, so I wasn't thinking about how baby was due several days ago IYKWIM.
I hope your second labour is exactly like mine was

I'm currently crossing my fingers for is!
Tell me you don't get practice labours at 12 days overdue with no previous niggles whatsoever?!
How are you going Esmesmum?

I just saw the time T_Rex posted...
I hope all comes on naturally for you. It's the best (so I found with my first boy) 3 hours of niggles, 15min drive to Middlemore, 1 hour of labour and then home 6 hours after. The second was 12 days over. I tried all sorts to conceive naturally but babe was too comfy and in no rush to meet the world which is why it was a 6 hour extremely active labour!
Best of luck T_Rex.

Surely not T-Rex, I'm guessing that baby has arrived or is very close to arriving!
I'm still in one piece, had a few BH last night but nothing to make me think that baby might be on it's way. I've resigned my self to baby being induced on Friday.

So it was 12 days over, but only 6 hours of very intense labour, born just after 7am today. She was so worth the wait
