Wondering if this has happened to anyone else??

AF is a few days late so I took a PT. It came up positive straight away (2nd line a little bit fainter than the first one) It was an internet cheapie one so I did another and it also came up positive.

A few hours later I went to the supermarket and bought a first response one, and it also came up positive really fast.

I went to the Drs today, and he got me to do a test, and it came up negative almost immediately, no sign of a 2nd line. He pretty much implied my tests couldn't have come up positive if his didn't as it is hospital standard.

He refered me to get a blood test, which I did so will wait for the result.

3 tests against 1.  Congrats on your BFP!!

When I got pregnant with DS a couple of years ago I hadn't missed AF yet but was showing signs of pregnancy when I decided to test.  I got a faint but clear second line.  The next day I went to the docs with a sample of FMU (since I still hadn't missed AF yet and didn't want to risk diluted stuff) but no second line came up in the 5 minute wait time, although sometime later a very faint line showed up.  My doc was lovely about it and sent me to get a blood test which confirmed my pregnancy.

Same thing happened to me. The doctors just use tests that are not very sensitive. You will be pregnant. Just wait for the blood test.

The tests the doctors use are dumb. Gave me negatives too.

Depends what time of day you get it done and whether your doc calls with results or writes to you. If it's done in the morning results should be back by the afternoon.

I got strong lines on a first response, and was getting super faint lines on a quickstream (same as quickcard at the GP's, just different style casing) so if you're getting lines on more than one test, defintely believe them over the one el cheapo you did at the GP's. Bloods are usually done overnight. If your clinic is open Saturday mornings it may well be there now, otherwise you'll get results by Monday lunchtime, just call your GP and the nurse will be able to check on the computer to see if they are in yet, and what the results were.

Funny that because i knew I was pregnant, a woman sometimes just knows these things, and took a first response test that showed an immediate positive. When i went to the doctor her test showed a negative. The tests they use don't seem to be as effective early on which is strange, so she didn't know whether to believe me. Congrats, the first response tests are awesome and I wouldn't use anything else early on.

Go the First Response

I'd definately believe the 3 tests you took over the one at the doctors as the ones the doctors use really are quite bad for early on. They're cheap in bulk which I think is why the doctors get them.

Congrats

those dealextreme cheapies are pretty good I reckon! I got decent lines on them early on this time, and much darker than quicksticks... I had heaps of them so kept doing them every day for ages to see them get darker and strangely they never really got that dark (always a little lighter than control) so they're not much good for seeing if ya hcg is rising IMO... not that ya should use hpts for that anyway
