Topic: Miscarriage Symptoms Posted: 11 April 2010 at 8:25pm |
I'm 6 weeks pregnant and started bleeding, bright red, last night at midnight and it has been fairly light (2 pads so far, not full) with only a few wee clots but consistent all day.
Also had a wee bit of cramping for the last 24 hours.
My GP says that there is a chance that the bubs is still okay and that the placenta may have hemorrhaged and I'm going for a scan tomorrow.
Have read a few promising stories of women who have had bleeding and go on to have a healthy pregnancy & birth.
I guess i'm just looking for a little reassurance, I feel so devastated and utterly destroyed that we have lost our much loved little bean..
Trying not to get our hopes too high for the scan but I wish with all my heart that everything is alright!
Has anyone been through anything similar? x

The best of luck with your scan. Hopefully baby is doing wonderfully in there. I had a massive bleed at 17 weeks with my girl, and she was fine.
Let us know how the scan goes.
I have a friend who is about 7/8 weeks preg. She started bleeding before Easter and thought she was miscarrying. But baby is still alive and kicking. Her hormones aren't doing what they're supposed to, and she's having weekly scans. But baby seems to be OK.
If things aren't good, remember we are here for you. We have all been through a miscarriage of some description, mine only last week. So we understand what you're going through.
Good luck,
Kelly

Hi Kriss, good luck for the scan today hun.
Just wanted to let you know that I had a bleed when I was 9 weeks and was overseas in HK at the time.
I also had some quite strong cramping with it and was quite sure that it was all over for our wee one.
Thankfully I was able to get into a gynae at the hospital who did a scan and even more thankfully our baby was perfect.
She scanned me all over and couldn't find the source of the cramping or bleeding.
The bleeding eased up over the next week and the cramping took a little longer but both are gone now and I'm looking forward to our 12 week scan tomorrow, just to make sure everything is still ok.
I really, really hope that it turns out the same way for you Kriss, I have everything crossed for you and your bub.

I was 13 weeks when my miscarriage happened. I guess for me I had a sense that something was not quite 'right' my pregnancy symptoms eased off from about week 9 and by the time I had my first bleed my breasts had started shrinking.
I really hope for the best outcome for you.
*hugs*

No luck today.. couldn't find my little bean in there, or any sign of the pregnancy at all
Having blood tests this week to check HCG's are dropping.
We are so gutted, had already started bonding with my little bub and imagining our future together..
I think we will TTC again very soon as our DD is 16 months already and we would like them to be as close in age as possible.
Thank you all so very much for all your support & hugs! xxo

Kriss, I am so sorry to hear your sad news.
It's just not fair is it. It's not just the loss of a life, but the loss of plans and dreams...that's the part I found the hardest.
I hope your body recovers quickly and you're able to start trying again soon.
Big hugs xo
