I want to do a cook and freeze food. DD isn't too fussy and will eat carrot, pumpkin (seriously she scoffs this down) avo, potato, kumara. I try to do everything myself as she doesn't like the jar stuff. Don't blame her its basically thickened liquid.

ATM all I have managed to freeze is pumpkin which she lives on but I know that she needs other things.

What foods can I start cooking and freezing?

What freezes well?

I have heard that potato isn't very good to freeze.

Oh and DD is 6.5mths old.

I froze kumara (purple and orange), pumpkin, carrots, parsnips, zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower, pureed peas, apples, pears, plums, apricots, cherries, prunes.

I froze them all as individual foods IYGWIM and would combine 2 or 3 flavours as C got older as well. But if you freeze them separately then you can mix and match more

yep what she said... summer is great for freezing those peaches and stuff too.

potato on its own was never a hit with my kids, but a small amount with something else was ok.

Thanks I did a bit of googling and saw potato was good to freeze. Meh some peoples experiences differ.

Was planning on freezing seperatly so I could just pull stuff out and mix and match

DS loves corn. I was doing cobs and then cutting off the corn but now I buy the bags of kernels (IYKWIM). But yeah, corn, pumpkin, carrots, kumara, silverbeat, peas, zuchinni. I tend to now give him fresh fruit but before I used the jars (just for the fruit though).

I'm also thinking about freezing meatloaf portions. I'll defrost and then whizz it up with veges in the good old Magic Bullet just before I feed him.

What everyone else said, plus I used to freeze meat (mince, chicken, beef) which worked well. When Jack was little I went to the library and got out some baby recipe books which had heaps of ideas
