It's that time again. Palmy junior triathlons start this week, on monday.

Ages 4yrs to 12yrs.

At freyberg pool, registration from 4.30 pm, races start at 5.30pm, for the next 5 monday nights. $5 per triathlon.

Paris did one of these last year and completely enjoyed it..., and has signed up for all 5 this year at her request.

kids age 4 -6 do 300m run, 600m bike and 1 length of the learners pool.

lots of fun.

Just thought I'm sure that there would be a few kiddies on here that might be interested.

let me know if you're interested maybe we can all meet up - you can download entry forms from the palmy triathlon club site if you want or just do it on the day.

Ohhh that sounds cool.

Need to get Alia training wheels for her bike. We tried to get her a 16" but it was too small! So she's got a 20" but can't really ride it properly yet without Daddy helping her.

Could she use her trike?

Um, i'm not sure....i guess she could, depends on if she can go 600m on it easily on grass.

We need to upgrade Paris's bike too as hers is little with the seat etc up nearly as far as it can go but her legs are so long that she needs a bigger one.

excellent.

Mikes taking just paris this coming week as I forgot and have work unfortunately, but I will be there for the next few.

Ayja has decided she would like to try it - i am unsure as to how well she will go but then she goes pretty good with her bike (actually better than paris) whereas paris goes good with running. they had a few 3yr olds and 2 yr olds last week. I told her just once - as she is still only little and she will be old enough to do it properly next year. she's only a couple of months off 4.

We are going to try & get there next week. Alia finally got out on her bike with the training wheels & loved it, will get her to try biking on grass this week.

Praying for good weather!

we missed it this week as paris had a bit of a cough and a sniffle and i think it would have pushed her a bit far.

Look forward to hopefully seeing you next week.

aw awesome!!!! that's great that she stuck in there. Paris gets a bit teary afterwards when the cold and tired hits.. but ayja seems to just get more energy and she goes so fast!!!

Both the girls did it this evening ayja had so much fun last time that i let her do it again.

Do you have some pics?

Yep...I was trying to keep an eye out for your girls but didn't recognise them.

DH went with Alia on the bike ride. She needed a fair bit of pushing as the trainer wheels really slowed her bike down. She didn't come last so that was all good!

Quite funny seeing Kris Gemmel there, I used to swim with him when we were kids!

This is Alia coming up to the change over, I came across & was encouraging her to run faster. I don't think she realised she could past the slower kids.

This is right at the end of the bike ride

I missed the swimming leg, which DH said she ran through the pool lol But check out this smile!

aw cool, hehe, I saw her walk past before the race! I thought it was her but of course couldn't be sure!we managed to get a few pics of the girls last night.

Here's ours...

Ayja with her friend - (she's 3 days older than ayja - look at the huge height difference!!!, no wonder people think ayja's much younger)

ayja running - she was actually really quite quick until about 3/4 of the way round, then she slowed a bit.

and paris running

We are waiting as we know that some of the organisers have pics of the girls and she's going to email me so hopefully will have more soon.

Cool....Alia can't wait til next year. Not sure if we'll be here though.

Wow there is a height difference! Alia is like that will all her friends as well except she's the tall one!

I wish i'd let her run in barefeet but the pedals would have hurt her. Those shoes are so heavy.
