    Posted: 11 April 2013 at 1:12pm
Hi - found out this week that we're expecting a baby #2 in Dec. I'm after recommendations for an obstetrician in the Central Auckland. I had some complications with the last pregnancy and ended up with an emergency c-section, so thinking a private OB is the way to go this time.

I've done a search for OB recommendations but most of the posts date a few years back. Would be great to hear of people's recent experiences.

Thanks!

I used Dereck at Origins in Mt Eden found them great for both of my little ones  one in 2010 and one in Sept 2012. I felt really safe with them. had a PPH with baby #1 and Hypertension so was monited with #2 he how ever stopped growing  and they where great managing this. They also respected my  thoughts on drugs and intervention both babies where natural births and I never felt pushed to do it anyother way but I also felt safe that they had a back up plan if needed and things went pearshaped.

I used in 2009 Birthright in Newmarket. Loved it, every appt my OB did a little scan so I saw my girl lots while preg and so reassuring having an OB. They also have midwives that take care of you when you leave the hospital.

A bit on the $$$ over 4k but I think it was worth it and if I was working now I would use them again

Thanks dino1 and Lanata. A friend used Origins and was happy with them so I've been considering them. Also got AOC and Neil Pattison on my list.

They are expensive, aren't they!

I'm using Neil Buddicom, he delivered my son May last year and is looking after my current pregnancy. Very happy with him.
And yes, they are expensive, but worth it in my opinion.   if you have southern cross health insurance you can claim a small amount back.

Has anyone used Neil Pattison (Pregnancy Partners)? What's he like?
