I wasn't sure where to put this thread..

Daniel is getting recurring infections with his foreskin and I need to figure out how to stop it from happening..

This is why it's happening but I wondered if anyone can think of any helpful thoughts to try and stop it..

I put his night time nappy on, he's pointing down and his head is covered by his foreskin. Yet when he wakes in the morning his foreskin is rolled back and very red and swollen. I have antibiotic ointment that i put on it as soon as I see this which usually stops an infection really setting in but it must be hurting him.

I've tried making his nappy nice and snug and then nice and loose. Different types of nappy and even a sposie, somehow with all of them his foreskin rolls back and gets like stuck back causing his issues. He must be moving around at night for it to do that and I can't stop that.

I know little boys his age aren't meant to have foreskin that rolls back as far as his, he's always been able to do that since birth because he was born with it rolled back and it was quite short - paeds saw him for it and stuff.

GP (who is great) can't think of anything to help other than what I'm doing.

Any thoughts?

tobys always rolled back really early too but never heard of it doing it by itself... it would be interesting to see at what point in the night it rolls back... perhaps if you checked his nappy before your bedtime ... or maybe some curash powder to help keep the area dry...??

I think it must be rolling back because of Daniel moving in his sleep or something, it doesn't do it during the day time or when he has no nappy time.

DH managed to check his nappy before he came to bed which would have been a funny sight, sleeping child, DH with a torch looking in a nappy lol and it was fine.

I might try curash tonight.

I have never tried curash so not sure what it is like. But have you tried covering him in a good layer of some type of nappy rash cream? It might make everything a bit "slippery", maybe his foreskin gets caught (sort of) on the nappy with him moving and that is what pulls it back.

I don't like using nappy rash creams because I use cloth and dislike liners.

I used curash last night and even though it was still pulled back in the morning it wasn't nearly as angry red looking so I'll stick with that for a week or so and see if it makes a big difference.
