Hi,
I have started to write in a book the funny things that my dd says so that we dont forget them as she grows. Like, the other week she had a flu bug and everytime she stood up she went dizzy and would say "my heads not working properly" which made us laugh a little.
Is anyone else doing anything to remember things by?
My SIL has done this for her 3 kids (aged 14, 16 & 27). She has notebooks (clearly marked with each name) which she's written the funny and special stuff in.
She used this when she wrote her speech for my nieces 21st and she gave her the notebooks about her as part of her 21st birthday gift.
I think it's a great idea but I haven't started anything (mind you Michaela doesn't say much).
I started the notebook thing when Ella was just wee - more about how her little personality was showing and reaching milestones. But erm... I can't have written in it for half a year now! *feeling guilty here*
I write Ella a mushy letter on each birthday (well, there's only been one so far but I know I'll stick to this one!) with a charm in the envelope (and a bracelet in her first one too). I seal it up (because it's for her, not for me to re-read) and will give 18 of these to her on her 18th.
I have a book for each of them that I write milestones and just what they are up to. Jacks is almost finished and Capreces is only like half a page. I really need to write in them a wee bit more.
Thought of something else I have done with DD and shall do with this baby.
Each christmas I buy a christmas decoration for her with the year on it or I write the year on it with a little message. When she leaves ome she will have lots of decorations for her very own first christmas tree.
i love that idea about the christmas decorations! Brilliant.
I already note things in my diary that the kids do or say but haven't got around to making it into a scrap book or anything. Really should though, as looking back it's really obvious how quickly they change.
