Jack has turned into a nightmare child since he got sick last weekend. He spent all last week sleeping so that was ok but since Friday everything has turned into a tantrum, he doesn't even say what he wants just goes nuts, I try to ask him but he just throws stuff at me. He gets put into time out but all that involves is him throwing stuff around until after about an hour of screaming he calms down. Then half an hour max later it starts all over again.

There has been lost of one on one and hes been great then but when I have to do something (like feed Caprece) he just loses it.

I have been so close to smacking him I feel like I'm about to lose it. Does anyone have any good advice.

Hasnt he been sick lately? Have you had his ears checked? I know that can turn toddlers into terrors!

my god daughter was like that at exactly the same age with another baby...............found out that all she wanted to do was help...........she feed the baby with me etc and read books........could be a number of things too..........i agree with the ears aswell.

I would try getting him involved as your little helper (he sounds like he is missing all the attention) getting him folding stuff, cleaning stuff, putting away things, help changing baby, they are good handing things to you , espeically doing the dishes :0) if that doesnt work, take him to the doctor to get a complete check up from head to toe...........has anyone else taken care of him since then? has he been like that with them?

Good luck and let us know how it all goes

BREATHE!! and walk away. I have so been there many times! It's scary how angry I have been over the (in hindsight) most stupid things. Stay strong, and it will get better soon!!

I so know how you are feeling right now!

The walking away is definitely the key I reckon, as well as deep breathing, and a big glass of wine

I'm wondering about his ears too? Mebbe a trip to the Dr would be a good idea.

All the best Rach, these two year olds sure are hard work!

Thanks everyone I have to take him back to make sure his tonsilitis has cleared up so might get a proper check.

He spent pretty much the whole of yesterday in time out Then we had to go post something and he was pretty good until home time when he had to be dragged out of the mall screaming.

Today has been heaps better, we had playcentre all morning so I hardly saw him and now hes alseep

Actually, this morning was not as bad as it has been. Spent a lot of time trying to talk to him and let him know that things were going to happen before they actually did. Still had issues getting him in and out of the carseat though.

Good to hear just the one tantrum from Jack so far today! Long may it continue

Testing time for us will be in the run up to dinner. As soon as he sees me cooking his dinner he gets all antsy and wants his food right now lol! Can't quite understand the whole cooking takes time business
