Today we went to Mainly Music and Elle had a great time. However, through out the whole thing she was smiling at, and trying to climb on, one of the Dads. Whenever his daughter sat on his knee Elle threw a wobbly. When I picked her up...she threw a bigger wobbly and struggled to get back down to see the man.

During morning tea he was standing and she was tugging at him saying "up, up". He picked her up and gave her to me and she screamed "no, no" and tried to get back to him. BOY did everyone stare and look concerned!!!!!!

She doesn't even like her Nana (my mother, she is ok with DHs Mum) and cries everytime she sees her despite seeing her once a week or so. She is like that with lots of ladies...she clearly prefers men. If we go somewhere and there is a woman she takes exception to, she will just cry and cry. She's been like that since she was a baby.

But preferring a complete stranger over Mum?

I asked DH the other day if she doesn't like other women because of me...i.e. women = like Mum???

My Sienna is a hussy too, she latches on to men over women all the time - Willie, my Dad, my grandad... Mercedes on the other hand is terrified of men!

Gina prefers men over women too - she can (kind of) flirt already but it's sooo funny. If we get a couple visiting, she'll giggle/be all cute at the man and normally just ignore the woman

Was he the only guy there? Could she have thought he was dad for some reason? Funny kid!

Don't take it personally!!  Some kids just every now and then get dismissive of the people who do the most for them - us mums cop a lot of flack for raising them!  My thoughts are that Elle knows you'll always be there for her, she knows you adore her and she'll go home with you after mainly music and wake up to see you every day; maybe she's secure enough in that to be thoroughly enjoying meeting new people?  Ella shows a preference for guys, too.
