Joey has started to bite his fingernails. It is yuk! I keep pulling his hands out of his mouth and telling him not to do it but that doesn't work of course, LOL

Should I worry/care? Will he grow out of it? Why is he doing it?

Any ideas? Thanks!

Charlotte started at about Joeys age and stopped of her own accord about 6 months ago. I didn't make too big a deal out of it- meant I didn't have to cut her nails Glad she hasn't made a full on habit out of it though. Hopefully he'll just grow out of it too.

Hannah started to at about that age and I started rewarding her on a daily basis for unbitten nails - with pink nailpolish lol so don't try that one

In the end she seemed to just get discouraged about it so I dropped the whole idea and she grew out of it. Took a couple of months and she still reverts on occasion.

So I shouldn't make a big deal of it? Probably will make him want to do it more I guess. Thanks!

I'm still too scared to go near Keira with nail scissors, and shes not to keen on it either so I still just bite them for her... she hasnt tried herself yet but if a nail is broken she comes straight to me to fix it. Any one have any good suggestions to get rid of long nails other than me biting them?
