hi mtjt. those bloody empty follicles ay?! we just home from 2nd ivf with one embryo on board and that it. did have 17 follicles at scan that were good and bloods perfect, then i wake up to 3, what 3? and then down to one. dr said next time they might try to use double flushing at retrival as there are eggs they think, they just don't want to bloody move. so no real suggestions sorry just more of a rant!

We had a fair few from memory - I had 30+ follicles but came out with about 18ish eggs. I don't know what you can do about it though

Hi mtjt, been thinking of you. Would be really interested to hear what your specialist says esp if anything can be done to prevent/improve.
Apparently normally they expect 80% of follicles to have eggs, I ended up having to get double flushing to get my eggs out (7 of 13 retrieved). At transfer FS briefly said flushing is a bit controversial as some specialists think the eggs retrieved this way aren't quality ones in the long run eg there is a reason they aren't easy to get out- but she would note on my file to look at flushing again next time (though of course hoping there won;t be a next time )
All the best for your review and hope you get some answers and a way forward...
