Hi everyone,

I just wondered if anyone has any advice for me. I have long suffered from UTI's and I am 9weeks pregnant today. Since finding out that I am pregnant I have had 3 UTI's. My docs have given me antibiotics and the symptoms go away but as soon as I finish them I get them back! I went to docs today and Dr said that I have Strep B infection. I have done some googling and nothing really solid regarding early pregnancy and this strand of bacteria.

I am currently booked in for my first MW appt on the 17th of Oct and spoke with her briefly about this, she suggested that I get a scan on my kidneys done ASAP. (which I shall)

Any suggestions or stories most appreciated

I get UTIs when pregnant and it makes me way sick so you have my sympathy!
I drink scads of water and cranberry juice and watch what I eat. Nothing too fatty or salty.
Odd that you'd had 3 bouts of UTI in approx 5 wks. I wonder if they've missed something since that just sounds squiffy to me. Where are our resident nurses??

I *think* with strep b you need an injection when baby is born or baby needs an injection because of the chance of infection?? Someone else might be able to help better with that.

Congrats on being pregnant!! I saw you over on the May thread so we'll be seeing each other quite abit over the next few months
