Hi guys
Just wondering how long it took you to get pregnant with your 2nd child?

Also how did it differ from your first pregnancy?

Thanks!

3 years for my first (although that included 2 miscarriages right at the start). 2nd time AF had returned twice (still breastfeeding), so I guess you could say 2 months. I'm only just pregnant though so I don't know different it'll be.

One hit wonder with DD, we weren't even TTC, but 23 months, lots of drugs, money and patience for #2.

BUT we got there in the end

7 months for number 1 and 7 months for number 2. This time around I'm much more tired than I ever thought I could be and haven't even hit 12 weeks yet. can't wait to start feeling a bit more normal.

Whoopsie for #1, and first shot for #2. So far it's been identical, excluding a bout of food poisoning with #1 when I was 8 weeks UTD, leading to 2 weeks of sickness. Did feel movement a lot earlier with this one though.

Surprise pregnancy (kind of planned, but long before we expected it to given I'd JUST stopped the Depo!) with #1

#2 has a different dad and took 20 months to concieve, was sick all through my pregnancy, as opposed to up to 16 weeks with first.

This one (same dad as #2) took 8 months from return of AF with the help of Clomid, and have only been mildly sick, but have instead had mild SPD and more recently diagnosed with gest Diabetes. Without the Clomid theres no knowing how long it might have taken since we werent given the option with #2

It happened quickly both times for us.

#1 was the first cycle and #2 was the second cycle.

My pregnancies ended up very similar but started off different.

With my first i lost my appetite and lost 3kg during the first trimester. Morning sickness started kinda late, 9ish weeks i think and it didn't last too long. I don't remember it being TOO bad either.

With my second i was STARVING and put on weight during the first trimester. lol. I also had morning sickness from 4 weeks till around 13 weeks. I felt horribly nauseous 24/7. I threw up once with each pregnancy. Weird. lol.

ETA i was really tired with both pregnancies but more so i think with #2. I just wanted to sleep. lol. But i did have a toddler to run around after.

Hmm definite whoopsie for number 1, and that was in our 2nd month together.
Planned number 2 so went off mini-pill, got period, got pregnant, so 1 known cycle :D

And so far yay for less MS, just nausea, no throwing up, (I am attributing that to continueing to BF) and bang on 13 weeks, I'm feeling more energetic, whereas with DD one I was feeling way tired for AGES!!!

ds1 wasnt exactly planned but we werent using anything for 6mths. I got very mild neusea in the mornings but that was getting up at 5-6am and being in the car for an hr. other than was very easy pregnancy.

ds2 I cant say wasnt unplanned but he was a surprise as were had only started to consider the idea of another baby and i was already pregnant. pregnancy was identical to 1st except i put on my weight.

ds3 took a bit longer we ttc for a yr but i was bfing ds2. I didnt have a wink of ms with him at all, I think it was because i wasnt getting up so early and traveling.

ds4 I thought would take longer than it did as cycles were still messed up. only ttc 4-5mths once af returned after ds3. again no ms at all but i had just about everything else instead, spd, sciatica(sp), heartburn or reflux, fainting spells etc

we have been ttc again but not really too bothered about how long it takes this time as i am wanting another 2ish yr gap. i havent been keeping track i cant remember when we started ttc.

first pregnancy missed mc lost at 8 weeks found out at 12 weeks.. feb 07 ...made to wait three months and got preg end of may 07 and had Ethan feb 08, then pregnant when he was 10 months mced in jan 09.. then pregnant with Liam end of may 10..

it differed cause i was even more super anxious the whole time..but health wise was much better no high bp (though i had low which sucked) and generally kept better.. i found it much much harder having a delightful 2 year old(well he was 2 just before I had Liam) to run around after too..

I did have awful SPD that took some weeks afterwards to get better.. and was more nauseous.. had tiredness the entire 40 weeks both times..

Oh,differences, well, with my first I was young, 19 and had a lot more energy, had ms for about 16 weeks which came back at 32 /33 weeks, however it wasn't that bad,I never felt nauseous, I would literally stroll to the toilet, throw up, and walk back ,la de dah..

My second was 6 years later, I was working full time, but once I went on maternity leave it was great,I could rest while C was at school, I had nausea ,only threw up twice tho.
(waste of food that was)

with both I got heartburn, and at the end a sore back, and I think the main thing that was different was how much more excited I was about my first, don't get me wrong, I was excited about my second, but it wasn't the same all consuming, all I can think about

.....and so far in every way this pregnancy has been the worst

I got pg with #1 'early', lol. We decided we wanted kids, but were going to start trying a few months after I got a BFP. #2 took about 3 months and #3 was a whoopsie.

How did my pg's differ? Well I never threw up with any of them, I only had nausea and tiredness during the first trimester with each of them but that was about it. With DD I had a metallic taste in my mouth and went off coffee, but otherwise they were pretty similar.

I only had normal tiredness towards the end of pg #1 (he came at 40+4). With #2 I stopped work (had been working full-time) at 28 weeks as I was exhausted. I felt SO much better even with waddling around after a toddler and she came along at 40+5. With #3 I definitely felt the pg at the end (sore and achey). It was the only pg where I really got over pg (thankfully baby was a wee darling and came a day early ).

Jude took 5-6months of no contraception to conceive whereas Willem was conceived first month of no contraception.

Had no nausea or ms with W (had a bit with J). One thing I didn't expect to be so different was the babies movements during preg. The position of the placenta was completely opposite for each. With J it was very posterior, so I felt him moving very early on and he was booting me hard right from the very first movements I felt. I'd read you can generally feel movements earlier on in subsequent pregnancies, so was very surprised not to really feel W until around 22weeks - but the placenta was right around the front with him, which also served to cushion the kicks. So he felt very different.

J was born at 39w2d and W born at 37w3d.

#1 took  3 months

#2 first month

had bad MS with both but #2 felt quite a bit worse (not sure if it was actually worse or if I was just more tired after running away after a toddler and therefore it felt worse). It definitely went on for longer with #2 and never fully went away.

Also #1 was 2 days  early and #2 was 8 days overdue
